I'm wondering why Kirby Is rounded.


For some reason I'm judging by my bias here. Here's my overlook on what may have inspiried the design for the kirby character.


I think it was inspiried off of jiggly puff because: of the rounded like balloon shape, The ablitity to float in mid air, and attack from it.  But as for eating and other attacks, I'm not entirely sure what that could have been inspiried from.

They look very similar and it is funny because I have never really noticed or paid any attention to this before. I think that may be what the design is based off of, or may be similar to in some sense. This is a good thread idea, I never really put any thought into this until you brought it up. This is a very tough question. I think the creators were just messing around. I don't think they actually intended to release the current design for Kirby, but when they cam up with it, they started to like it.

I think that it could be many reasons.. the desingers of the game in general are very creative in my opinion and they inspire me quite a bit. I'm sure it took a lot of soul searching and imagination as well.

I always thought Kirby was bubble gum since he inflates and is a pink blob. That might also explain why he has several mouth based attacks such as swallowing enemies and shooting fireballs.
