So, right now I am sitting and having breakfast. In about an hour I go to my first class for an hour and a half, take an hour and a half break, and then I have to give my speech. I am very nervous because I was supposed to go on day three, but at the end of day two, the professor said class would be cancelled for about a week.

That means I had an extra week to stress over the speech, and I am so nervous that I have not been able to prepare.

Perhaps it's just me, but I've become pretty good at forcing feelings into hiding (at least for a little while). Try to completely ignore those feelings, and then do your best to touch up your speech. You're gonna be nervous when you go to give your speech, but try to focus on the speech and delivering it well rather than how you're feeling. If you don't focus on how nervous you are, and try to suppress that feeling a little, I'm sure you'll do great.

Honestly, if you have speech anxiety (which it sounds like you do), there is little helpful advice that can be given. You can't just magically force your feelings away temporarily. For me, it has never been an issue. I don't care what people think of my speeches (unless it was for Student Congress, in which we were competing). I would just go up and say what I have to say and it was no different to me than if I were just having a conversation, only they can't talk back to me and are required to listen to what I say . But I have been a forensics performer and a stage performer for quite a while too, so of course I don't have that issue as much. 

Only thing I can do is just tell you how I handle it. For speeches, I think of it more of a one sided conversation than a speech. I don't care so much about how I look, I focus on making sure what I say is valid and meaningful. I still hate those first few seconds before the speech begins, but once I get started, it is fine. In all honesty, for people with speech anxiety, the fear of giving a speech is worse than actually giving the speech (in most cases). People tend to prepare for it being far worse than it actually ends up being.

Thanks for all the advice for my speech. I am currently taking my lunch break and in about an hour, my speech class is going to begin. I will try to do my best on the speech and I will try to get as high a grade as I can.
