At the moment Davideo7 is paying a programmer to "convert" an open source SNES emulator to java format. He's taking donations too if your interested. No GBA emulator to my knowledge is being discussed or thought about at the moment, feel free to PM Davideo7 though.

Unfortunately its not easy to make an emulator, an unstable beta release would probably take someone up to and beyond a year to create.

Game Boy Advance is out of the question. Doubt there is even an online emulator for it or it would be up by now. The newest system you will ever see on Vizzed is either GBC or N64 (maybe) but nothing beyond that.

Actually Jigsaw, GBC is already on the board.

There is a GBA emulator in the works by a different developer but it's at a really early beta stage and it's pretty crappy right now and I don't think the person has updated it in a long time. Someone will eventually make a GBA emulator but my focus right now is to get an SNES emulator up on the site.

N64 would be priority over GBA in my opinion but still, GBA would be awesome to have, it's just not something you'll see for a long time because these emulators take hundreds and hundreds of hours to make and requires a TON of Java knowledge to make them.

Hunderds and hundreds, ay? Well, that sucks. Guess that means that SNES won't be here soon...

Anyways, wouldn't coding in Silverlight be easier than Java? I know that more people have Java (and I'm not sure if Silverlight is also for Macs), but Silverlight is more advanced... or at least that's what you told me a few weeks ago.

If I was going to pay someone to make an SNES emulator it would probably most likely be with Silverlight.

Silverlight uses C# which means it'd be far easier to port a current emulator to C# than to Java. Plus Java isn't nearly as powerful as Silverlight is, and I'm pretty sure Silverlight is beyond Flash as well.

I've seen games like Quake ported to Silverlight and I was very impressed. I've also seen beta samples of a genesis emulator ported to Silverlight. N64 would definitely be perfect for being ported to Silverlight, I just don't think Java could handle N64 to well but Silverlight definitely could.

I'm pretty sure Silverlight works on Macs, I'm like 99% positive. It'd be pretty foolish for Microsoft not to make it for Mac, especially since it's suppose to be their Flash killer.
