The title basically says it. What was the first game you have ever played, and at what circumstances did you get to play it? Did the game affect you at that time? If you can't remember the first game try to remember the earliest game your mind is set on, share your experiences!

My first game ever was Pokémon Crystal, which I got from Christmas when I was 5 years old. At that time I had no English knowledge at all (Portuguese is my native language), I spent a good amount of hours stuck in the main protagonist house, until my older brother who had received Pokémon Silver instead taught me the wonders of walking through the red carpet. I got really addicted at that game even without having a single clue of what was going on and I remember being really proud of myself when I finally beat Elite 4 and achieved lever 100 with my Octillery (yes that was my main Pokémon back then). Nonetheless, this game is what got my attention into games and probably what made me eager to learn the English language.

I can't remember for sure, but it must have been something like Pokemon Red, Super Mario World or Super Mario 64. I can remember getting stuck at the old man in Viridian on Pokemon Red, conquering the heights of Bob-Omb Battlefield on SM64, and defeating Bowser for the first time on Super Mario World. Ah, good times.

I am pretty sure this thread has already been made, but I can not link it currently or right now.

I can not remember the first game I have played. I guess I was too young to remember. But what I had remembered that it was one of the old pokemon games. Can't name which. :/

The first game I've ever played is Pac-Man. My dad introduced it to me when I was 7 and I still play it but I don't play it a lot like I used to.

I feel like I have seen this thread before...... Possible dupe?

Anyway, the first game I played was a Dora The Explorer Game Boy Advanced game.

If I remember, my very first video game I've ever played, I remember it was on my 7th birthday on April 27th, 2000, my Brother (who was 15 at the time) asked me since it was my birthday, I can pick on any video game I want to try out, and I happen to choose Spyro the Dragon for the PS1.

I want to say my first game was a Powerpuff Girls game for the GBA, but I can't remember anything other than that since I was about five back then.

Wow I really cant remember that far back, I slightly remember playing the PS1 in 97-98 I had a demo disc that game with my ps1 with Spyro MSG1 and Tomba those were the ones I remember on the disc.
I eventually got Spyro and MSG1 but I could never find a copy of Tomba even though it was brilliant and I loved it.
wow I just looked up the price for it on eBay, ridiculous!

Best game of all time for me has to be; The legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time. There was something about it when my Dad brought it home for me when I was 5, it was the first game I completed on my own on the Nintendo 64, it's one game I've played on every console it's come out on (Bar 3DS, I've yet to buy one.) , and it got me into the Zelda franchise, something I'll never stop loving.

I do have a high amount of love for Borderlands as well, it was something I just couldn't put down. Hadn't had a game I was that into since Zelda so was quite nice.

My first game I think was Super Mario Brothers for the NES. I remember when I was about 5 I was bored so I went into the basement and put it in and started playing it.

I don't really remember the first game I played, but I am sure it was a Mario game. It was probably either Super Mario Bros or Mario Party 3 or 4. I was around four years old when I played them, and I enjoyed it.

I'm older than all you.  My first game was mid-80s and either Spider Fighter or River Raid for Atari 7800.  My grandfather had a 2600 and I don't remember actually playing it.  Spider Fighter and River Raid (both insanely good for the time) were the first two I ever played.  Brilliant games at the time and they completely changed the world.  Especially River Raid being a top down attack game.

The first game I can remember playing was either Super Smash Brothers, or a Sonic game that I can't remember the name of, or what system it was for. I'm sure I played some before that, but those are the first ones I can remember.
