In my past I've had many scary dreams
I have dremas like: Getting killed by people
Getting mutilated by the gruesome video game characters, or zombies
Some much screwed up stuff so I will give you one of my dreams
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
A zombie plague was in effect
My parents and brother were killed and infected
I wake up and see my zombie brother trying to eat me so I grabbed my pocket knife beside my glasses and stabbed him in the face killing him
I put my zombiefied parents out of their misery and start packing stuff (ammo, first aid stuff, food etc)
I put on my apocalypse attire and gather my weapons (my 20 gauge shotgun and my dads pistol)
I load my shotgun and hear zombies breaking down my door I kill them
And survive for a good while during the apocalypse
I was surrounded by hordes in a city I climb to a gas station roof and see 2 people
The people weren't friendly one shot me in both legs crippling me and the other throws me into the hordes surrounding the station
You know when they say you feel nothing in dreams well THAT IS NOT TRUE When I fell into the horde I can feel them clawing me , ripping me apart pulling internal organs out of me eating them
It was extreme pain I tried to reach for my pistol but a zombie kicked it out of my reach
So I had to deal with the pain and hear the demonic evil laughs of the 2 people until I finally died and woke up

Ehh, this may be a weird dream for all who read, but cheers.

======================================

This took place at a friend's house. My friend and I were just playing outside, having a good time. It was near Halloween, and his neighbor is notorious for putting up gruesome and absolutely vile Halloween decorations. This year, the neighbor did not disappoint. There were decapitated heads, ripped out eyeballs, bloody body parts, you name it.
Anyways, it was the afternoon, and my friend went inside. I went to pick up the basketball when I feel this eerie presence. I felt someone was watching me. I look around, and I see a quick flash of a black cloak, but that's it.
Later on, I am in the front yard and I am coming inside the house when I feel that presence again. I enter, and there is no one there. I look everywhere, then I go outside. The sky is grey, clouds seemingly invisible, and there was an empty chill. My house was nearby, so I started walking home. That's when I see Voldemort (yes, Voldemort) a far distance away, but I instantly match the black cloak that I was seeing to his own, and he starts to chase me.

General Disclaimer: I really am not a Harry Potter fan. I remember reading the Deathly Hallows book and watching The Goblet of Fire, but that's about it. I really don't know why my mind thought up Voldemort.

That's when everything becomes dark. Night time, like  what? I can still see Voldemort coming after me, with bloody hands. Some bloodied ghost-like beings, dark as night, blood-red as the sunset, pop up everywhere. I break out in a panic and start to run around the corner of my friend's street. I quickly dive into the alley way behind the laundromat, and hide in the dumpster. I here screams of agony, like glass shearing across a chalk board. I heard blood splattering, and Voldemort screaming "Get Him!"
Oh geez, I was so freaked out. Then there came a deathly silence. After about 3 minutes of that eerie silence, I hear one agonizing, terrorizing, scary as crap, scream, and then I feel hands on the back of my neck.
The hands lift me up, and I see a living hell, decapitation everywhere, blood nearly covering everything, and people barely alive, crawling around leaving a trail of blood behind them. Then I feel the hands's grip get stronger and stronger...then I wake up.

Lovely dream.

I am pretty sure there are parts that I forgot, mainly because I don't think people can fully remember their whole dreams, and this was a long time ago. I haven't seen that friend in ages.

I haven't had any scary dreams per say, but I really hate it when I am having a dream where I fall off something very high, and I wake up. Those can get pretty annoying, and I hate those.

Scariest is probably where I'm walking through the ruins of a city and I'm finding charred bodies of children, children's partially burnt hands poking out from under rubble with some of them clutching teddy bears and rag dolls.

It's not obviously scary but it is still scary on many levels.

When I was a child it was the one with the wild boar. As an adult it is the one where the demons hit me in the kidneys and I still hurt when I wake up.

I've only had two scary dreams in my lifetime.

1: I woke up and found a zombie-like man in the corridor. It was bald, and it scared the heck out of me when I was LITTLE. Luckily, it was a dream.

2: I was playing Half Life 2, and I was playing a campaign with a monster invasion. I saw a girl getting ripped apart in the game (lot of gore), and this scary zombie popped up on the screen.

Number two was the scariest dream I've ever had. And what's ironic is that I got this dream a week ago.

Hey! I actually had a dream last night that I remember! And probably because it just forced me to wake up. haha!

So I had a dream that was kind of set in one of those zombie apocalypse movie settings. In my dream, pretty much every one was pitched against each other. At first, the dream made it seem like we were in some kind of game. Nobody trusted one another, we were roaming pretty empty streets, and EVERYBODY was always whispering.

My journey started with me running away from something and ducking into some random building. With fear keeping my heart rate fast, I sneaked around the building, trying to find a way out before I was caught for trespassing. I was actually trying to make my way as far through the city as I could, without being outside and vulnerable. I was walking down a ramp inside which went into a basement I was sure would open up to the outside, when I ran into the first sign of life. It was a security guard who, oddly enough, was the only one to raise her voice above a whisper. She began to yell at me and tell me that I wasn't allowed to be there, and she tried to usher me back up the ramp.

I tried to play it off and waved my hand towards the parking deck I saw though a window. "I was just going over there," I said with a pounding heart, wondering if she was going to whip out a gun. I didn't expect her to accept that excuse since everyone was in survival mode, but she annoyingly told me that this was not the correct entrance to use and led me down the rest of the ramp and to a side door, mumbling the whole time.

When she shut that door, I was in a whole new world. It was as though by shutting that door, she was leaving me on another planet, and this was the nitty gritty life-or-death "for real" part of the world. I hunkered down and realized.... In a planet nearly abandoned.. this.. this was the PERFECT place to be. What was more valuable than a running car?

I saw other people with their bodies also held low, running from vehicle to vehicle and checking to find any that were unlocked. Trying to keep out of their view, and went to the nearest car and tried it. No luck. I kept my eyes on them the whole time, the palms of my hands covered in sweat, and I heard snippets of their conversation that suggested they had already tried every car in the garage. Nonetheless, I went on to the next vehicle, eyes always peeled for danger. It was a blue truck with an extended cab, and the wheel bases also served as extra storage. There was suddenly another guy next to me, and my hand shook as I lifted the wheel base cover. A key! There was really a key!

I scooped it quickly into my palm, but it was too late. The other guy had already noticed. He was one of those tall handsome guys you usually see in a horror flick, with blond hair and dark eyes. I don't know quite what transpired, but some non-verbal communication was enough to know I trusted him. He hopped into the drivers seat and I hopped in the back. As he turned the key in the engine, the other two doors opened and two other women entered the vehicle as he pulled off.

This was quite alarming to me and the young man, but we didn't want to stop and draw the attention of anyone that might attack us. With voices hardly raised above a whisper, we began to bicker.
How can I trust you? Give me something that proves I can trust you.was my main line of thinking. Neither girl could give me anything, but the young man wouldn't stop driving, either. It was a very tense drive.... me with my palms planted into the seat cushion on either side. We saw many of the "zombies" and rode in silence, eyes wide and our breath caught.

Although we drove for the rest of the night, we needed to stop. Every town was full of broken down buildings with broken windows, shredded blinds, and signs of death. I'm not really sure why, but we chose a little cul-de-sac to stop in and decided to explore one of the houses. It was probably the most terrifying part of the journey. Night was beginning to fall and the house was eerily quiet. We walked around the house, sneaking our heads around corners ninja style, and only the young man had a gun. We kept expecting someone to pop up and attack us, but there was no sign of life... which was really even more unnerving. We could hear our own hearts pound in our ears.

We finally met in the kitchen and began to quickly cook a meal (maybe that's why we needed to stop?). I was so paranoid about the 'zombies' smelling the food, that I went and closed every door I could, to help keep the smell trapped inside as long as possible. We kept our eyes glued to the windows in fright, urging the food to cook quicker and watching for movement. Finally, the food was done and we headed towards the doors.

Not, however, before the young man whispered out to us. "This place is different," he said. We glanced across the streets at the still blinds and nodded. "Maybe it's a trap," one of the girls whispered.

"Well, we do have to sleep at some point. We have a LONG way to go," the other man whispered. The girls agreed with him, but I felt far too nervous. There could be no place that was safe. However, I was clearly the minority, and so I nodded and whispered my own terms. "Alright, but we stay awake in shifts. None of us all sleep at the same time."

They agreed and we began to empty our belongings from the truck and securing the house by locking all doors and window. With everything we wanted inside, I was the last one that began my way to the last open door. The others were inside and suddenly...

I heard a sound. It was a very faint musical sound and it was coming from the cab of the truck. My heart froze and I wondered what someone had left in the car that would make such a sound. Faint as it might have been, it was like listening to a waterfall when compared to the silence around us. I rushed to the cab of the truck and scrambled around to find the source of the noise. It was a tablet like thing, so it also let off a light in this now dark cul-de-sac. My heart pounding harder than ever, I tried to cover it up with my shirt and hug it close enough to my body so that the sound was muted.

I began to walk, very quickly, towards the house...

Bam. There was a silhouette. Have you ever had one of those moments in a dream where a narrator-like voice briefly interrupts your dream to explain something? Or you just intuitively know it? Well that's what happened at this point in the dream, and something told me that this was a creature very sensitive to man-made technologies.... a lion-like figure that was attracted to such tiny noises and sounds of light due to their unnatural characteristics and lack of abundance.

I could hardly see its form, but it did look like a huge, scrawny female lion, and it let out this tremendous screech that reverberated throughout the tiny town.

Black out.

The dream swapped focus. It was like one of those moves which follows the story of one person, only to abandon that view at the worst time and start focusing on a wider perspective. My dream went from first person to third person, which was a rather frightening experience. The other three in the house, upon hearing the shriek, rushed outside. I was no where to be seen, but there... in the grass, was the most horrific scene. Blood... EVERYWHERE. There were no body parts or even much sign of a struggle. Behind the house was this wide field of very tall grass, and it was clear that the lion had probably dragged me through it. The stalks were all pushed down and flattened in a widened trail, and even worse, they were matted down with ... blood.

They began to whisper, wondering what kind of creature had possibly dragged me away. (I mean, who sees lions in suburban neighborhoods other than Will Smith in I Am Legend?) Glancing down the trail and trying to come up with a plan, the young man suddenly noticed something disconcerting. There was a SECOND blood trail heading in the opposite direction. It was a much smaller trail that looked to be made by a much smaller figure (me, of course). They contemplated on the meaning of this. Had the lion monster allowed me to crawl away in the jest of some cruel game and for the fun of hunting them down while they tried to find me? Or were these lion creatures so smart, that they would start one trail, back track, and then leave another way... just to leave their pursuers confused and less capable of retaliation?

After some more close examination, the three cohorts figured the latter was the case. It was terrifying to know they were in a small neighborhood with no other people around, surrounded by intelligent lion monsters. They wanted to rescue me but had no idea about what to do...

Was I even alive?

I'll never know. I popped up off my pillow to avoid the answer. XD

I have many dreams but not many are scary in a traditional sense, for example, I often get dreams where some thing bad will happen, and I will wake up with a mild freak out shaking in my bed. The dreams themselves aren't the scary part though so does it count?

My scariest dream was: I was floating around in space, watching all the planets orbit and whatnot. But then a black hole opened up, and the sun moved next to earth. But then I sorta fell down to earth. Which was now in ashes. But there was this little girl(?). And she was both burnt, and really bloody. And she was chasing me through some ruins. Which had blood stained over lots of its walls. And the sun didn't shine at all. It was like night, only all of space could be seen, like you could easily see other planets. But yeah, it was really scary. So I woke up. But I got really tired so I went back to sleep, and it kept chasing me, as if I never woke up!

I wonder what the character limit on this thing is.

A user of this : that's called a false awakening. (edit) oh no, a false awakening is when you wake up but your still dreaming. xD

I had a dream where my family was eating at this old looking resturant and it had a bar and a huge window that stretched across most of the building. then the window shattered all over me and my family and this huge dinosaur came out (don't judge) and ate my mom. I woke up crying because I was crying in the dream.

I haven't had many scary dreams. One of my scary ones involved an invisible guy slowly killing me and my friends(strangling, stabbing, cutting ect,) and I had to watch all of my friends and family die.

I think the last one was some years ago. The generic I'm in space and I fall into a black hole nightmare.

The one that I will probably keep on remembering though, is the one were I was on my phone, and it just exploded in my hands. It might not seem like much, but it scared the living pancakes out of me.

The worst dream I ever had - Bare with me, it's confusing.

I was in a regular dream, just doing regular business, and before you know it, I started to fall into another dream. So I was literally inside of a dream in my dream. And I knew I was. I was trying to wake up out of the dream to get out of my dream. It was horrible! I felt like I was scratching the walls to escape without actually escaping. But it got worse.

After falling into another dream in my dream. I started to gasp for air in my dream, like I was choking. I felt as I was screaming to breathe. And I slowly was beginning to fall asleep inside of the 2nd dream in the first dream. As I was falling asleep into a 3rd dream all inside of my dream, I felt as I was really waking up, but waking up in my dream. (Like I knew I was sleeping.)

It's really confusing, but think of it like this - I was dreaming, which turned into a nightmare, and had another dream, inside of my first dream. That slowly fell into like another world/dream inside of the second dream inside of the nightmare. (Pretty much 2 dreams inside of 1 dream = 3)

Now I can continue the story, but it only gets more confusing, so i'll just end it with this. Luckily I was on vacation when this happened, and my nephew just happened to wake up earlier, and wake me up to take him to the arcade. Because if he wasn't their, I'm unsure if I would have ever escaped those dreams.

Oh and by the way, when I woke up, if you remember I said I felt as I was trying to gasp for air. I woke up gasping for air, like I could breathe. Sorry I didn't continue the story, it's just really confusing, and I feel as when I am typing "dream" I feel like I'm spelling it wrong. lol.

Well my scariest dream is a little weird.

I played to much Ghostbusters last night on the ps3 and my dream was There were people everywhere in my yard and all in Ghostbusters uniforms fighting off multiple Staypufts including me. Well my brother was asleep somehow and my parents were just sitting there reading the paper in the house. Then I ran down to my neighbors house and a Staypuft started running super fast so I went around the corner in to their yard and it changed into 3 Staypufts and they were running even faster. Then as soon as one was about to step on me I woke up.

You guys have some pretty scary dreams!. I had a pretty scary dream too.mY dream (like TristanTehGamer1) was a zombie invasion.

I was sleeping in my bedroom and i was woken up by screams. i looked outside my window and i saw the whole street crowded with zombies fortunately for our family the only way to get up into our house was by lift and the zombies did not know how to use it. The bad thing happened when a zombie BIRD flew up and infected my parents. i put them out of misery by shooting them with a gun (that suddenly appeared in my hand) I survived by living in tall buildings and putting up electric traps (which suddenly knew hot to put) then i found my way to the airport and started flying it (which also i suddenly knew hot to do) suddenly i zombie came into the cockpit and pushed me out of the window.(man it felt weird on my feet when fell) into the sea and woke up when i was nearly drowned.

I had two.

The first was when I was newly married and my wife and I were in a town.  It was a zombie infestation and we were trying to pass through.  Unfortunately, we ran into a group of zombies and had flee into a house.  She went up a ladder into the upstairs and I scrambled along the rafter.  We got split up and she had a knife but she was in a building that was being surrounded by zombies.  I had a feeling of utter uselessness and aloneness and I felt terrible for a few days after that dream.

The other was when i was a kid.  I dreamed a T-Rex was walking around outside the the front of the house and could see me.  I lived on the second floor of a tri-level so it was perfect eye level to the dinosaur and he looked at me.  I remember huddling under the window, trying to press myself against the floor so he couldn't see me.

That kept me up a few nights, too.
