I have cut way down on internet usage the past few days to try and not be online as much.  It's amazing how I suddenly feel free and I can do so many things.  I'm 31 so I was around when this interwebs thing began.  I feel obligated, maybe not addicted, to go online and check and see what's out there.  I'm trying to cut back and the sensation of not having to be online is exhilarating.  

Does anyone else feel like they *have to* go online?  Let's not throw the word addiction around but how do you folks feel about the internet and how you use it?

Not really, I always liek to check the news and whatever sites I use but to be honest i get pretty bored with it pretty quickly. Maybe I just have a limited imagination, the most I use it is for study or work purposes.

warmaker : I'm right there with you. I was around when the internet started as well. Just a year difference between you and I. I don't feel the need to go online, there's some days when I just don't go on at all. But most times I do but it's mostly for work.

I feel the same way. I have been addicted to the internet since I was about 11 or 12 years old. First I started going online because I realized there were hundreds of free games... then I became addicted to forums and chatrooms, and then social websites like Myspace and Facebook... Now I'm totally sucked in; The internet is my main source of entertainment and news. I go online every day.

I pretty much am. It's just because all of my friends are on here though. Being homeschooled means you're isolated from humanity in general. So I really go on the internet for everyone here on Vizzed. Before Vizzed though, I wasn't really addicted to the internet. I just watched LP's and funny videos/pictures. I could go weeks without it. But now, not so much.

I go through phases on this one.  Right now I've been going online everyday and yes I feel the urge to click on vizzed, I can't help it I just want to see what is going on here! In the past this has happened before but eventually something in my life will happen and start to take up all of my time and I will find myself drifting away from the "net".
