megamanmaniac : So based on what I said to Jordan, that reason alone tells me that we shouldn't do this. However, I have an idea that I've been thinking about for a few months now. Basically a vizzed hack of Tecmo Super Bowl which would basically be like a "community" hack. Let me explain.

Each user who wants to be involved with the project can create their own team. They can name the team whatever they want, change the colors and create the players. Every user would have a certain amount of points they can invest into their team (so someone wouldn't be able to make a perfect team) and they'd play as their team during some sort of Tournament. The schedules in the game would reflect the schedules during the Tournament.

Davideo7 : Do you have the software to do something like that?

Davideo7 : Yeah maybe I'm making it more confusing than it needs to be. Who knows. Either way I don't see how it enhances the experience any.

Your idea of the hack on the otherhand, does. If we can get the right people on the project anyways.

Something that would also be fun is it the player had to use names of users on vizzed board and the user's level on vizzed board would somehow reflect how good that player is. So lets say for my team, I choose the QB to be me. Since I have the highest level, my QB rating would be very high (the highest of any player in the game) but because of that, I'd have less points to distribute among the rest of the players on my team. There'd be a lot of strategy involved in making your team and it'd be fun if the teams consisted of all vizzed users.

I'd be willing to do it (I'm assuming that the tournament will start after I get to college). I'm definitely up to doing that. And I would have an OK offense matched with an incredible defense.

Davideo7 : Sounds sweet! I didn't even realize something like that was available. Makes things way easier. Although I do see what you are saying. It's hard enough now to get people to keep playing week in and week out. I know the core people that we have will be down for it...but can we find 32 people that really see the thing through? We shall see I guess.

Davideo7 : soory about all the questions, but how would this work? The teams would be arranged all onto one ROM? If so, would everyone work on one "project" so to speak? That meaning, you (or someone else) would create the hack thing and we all work on it together? Or do we simply allocate the points to designated players and you do all the changes yourself?

megamanmaniac : Users would take turns modifying the same rom. So for example, I'd start out and create my team and than I pass the rom on to someone else and than they make their team and that user passes it on to the next user and so on. I don't think I'd want to handle all the changes myself but if someone was willing than a single user could take care of all that.

Spaceman95 : Has basically told me that he has no intention on finishing out this tournament.

Jordanv78 : Yeap I had saw that but I'll still be including him for the remaining 2 games just because it'd cause too many problems to remove him out.

I'll have a lot of users to add to the tournament bad list once this tournament is over. There was only 3 completed games last week out of 8 games which is just sad.

Davideo7 : Yeah I figured that was the case. I just wanted to make sure you knew. Yeah it sucks that people start dropping out the second they realize they aren't doing well

This tournament is a good idea and I've been trying to play all my games, but there are a couple of road blocks for someone like me who just got into this to have some fun.
1) It lags way too much, every game whether I host or someone else does . Every down is important so missing a down here and there to bad connection becomes very frustrating.
2) If I play against the Viking again I will go crazy, I get that AP is the new Bo Jackson but you can get 5 yards on the toss play /screen pass to him every down. Argh. (Maybe the changes you mentioned earlier in the thread will prevent this.)
3) I don't want to have to play schedule cop and get on people's case about when we can play or if we can play at all.
Lastly 3) I'm not very good. This is my problem but maybe put us worse players together more so we aren't always getting blown out of the water and have a chance to have some fun. Instead of just seeing if we can even score once against you guys that are ridiculously good at this.
That's enough ranting for now and I'm sure by next year most of this will be addressed since this is the first attempt at this, just wanted to get that off my chest.
