Davideo7 : Remember my suggestion from earlier? Why don't we do that, except they can choose any team they want. So if one person chooses the Giants schedule, then they play the opponents that the Giants would face (the opponents being other Vizzed members), but they can choose whatever team they want. This way, each member can truly experience the joy of playing like in an NFL season, but aren't restricted by using the team whose schedule they chose to follow. This probably sounds really confusing so if you don't get it, I'll try to explain it better.

megamanmaniac : If we can get enough people to sign up next year, than we can do that.

megamanmaniac : So how is it playing the Giants schedule if they can choose whatever team they want to play as?

User 2 - Washington Redskins
User 3 - Philadelphia Eagles
User 4 - Dallas Cowboys

Week 1

New York Giants @ Washington Redskins (User 1 @ User 2)
Philadelphia Eagles @ Dallas Cowboys (User 3 @ User 4)

Week 2

Dallas Cowboys @ New York Giants (User 4 @ User 1)
Washington Redskins @ Philadelphia Eagles (User 2 @ User 3)

So lets say user 1 chooses to be the Seahawks week one and the Rams, the next, that would be allowed. User 2 will be the Colts week 1 and the Ravens week 2. User 3 wants to be the Vikings week one and the Seahawks week 2. User 4 wanted to be the Dolphins one week and the Raiders week 2.

The schedule would be (the teams are in parentheses)

Week 1

User 1 @ User 2 (Seahaeks @ Colts)
User 3 @ User 4 (Vikings @ Dolphins)

Week 2

User 4 @ User 1 (Raiders @ Rams)
User 2 @ User 3 (Ravens @ Seahawks)

You see what I mean now? They'd play the opponent that claims a team, but in the actual game, they can choose whoever they want.

megamanmaniac : We've talked about this before. No one will want to be stuck playing certain really bad teams like Washington, the Vikings etc. It's just not going to happen. I can guarantee you that much

Jordanv78 : They won't control that team. They'll just play their schedule. Their opponenes will be various vizzed members who are, so to speak, a certain team. Unlike before, where I proposed that they play only as the team they whose schedule they chose to follow, here they have the freedom to choose whoever they want to be, while still playing the opponents that the real NFL team would play, with a bye week.

megamanmaniac : You're idea as far as I can tell still requires people to want to control every team in the NFL...correct? I'm just saying no one will want to be teams like the Jaguars.

Jordanv78 : Well whoever selects to be the Jaguars will never have to play as the Jaguars. It just places them in a division and gives them opponents to play.

megamanmaniac : lol this idea is way too convoluted and honestly the way you are explaining it is not making sense to me.

Jordanv78 : I'll try and explain it by showing you an example of a couple of schedules at a later date.

No matter which way you choose to explain it it seems that your idea still requires people to play as teams they are not comfortable with. A player will forced to be the Jags and other bad teams. We have enough issues with players not playing their matches each week NOW when they are able to choose whatever team they want. If we change the rules to something like this, it will be even worse.

Davideo7 : You get what I'm trying to say though right? Do you think you can explain what I'm trying to say, because I apparently can't.

megamanmaniac : I see what your saying, but my question is what's the difference between that and what we are currently doing? If I'm understanding you correctly we would do the same thing we are currently but with most people and more games. The schedule would resemble actual football as opposed to our currently schedule which is more reminiscent of fantasy football.

jtotherock23 : Pretty much. It basically organizes it better (because it is a schedule already predetermined) and it feels like an actual NFL season. There would be a bye week and a user would have their division and opponents organized. In addition, the two users who play each other can use whatever team they want.

megamanmaniac : So explain this, what is different between what we are currently doing and what you are suggesting other than the fact that you want 32 players (Which will be tough to do)and the fact that there's a bye? If players can choose whatever team they want, then the differences seem minimal.

Jordanv78 : I never said that the changes would be major. All I did was make a suggestion that could make the tournament feel more like an actual NFL season.

There's obviously an increase in difficulty in trying to get 32 active people, which is why David saif he would do it only if enough people are interested.

If you don't think that people will want the schedule of a team like the Jags, then a user can be randomly matched to a team's schedule.

This is just a minor revision, unlike last time when it wouldve limited a user to using only that team. And it's not the only part of the suggestion. There was also the suggestion to give out Viz to divisional winners too.
