What do you name your rival in any pokemon game and why?

I usually name them what they are called in the mange/amine so yea

I name my rival after a friend (who turned out to be a very good one) I used to argue a lot with in primary school. Dario. Once I was playing SoulSilver and got to the point where you battled your rival for the first time. It had "Passerby Boy" as his temporary name. So I simply named him "Boy", because the game said so . On the other hand, I can never get myself to name my rival anything inappropriate, just at the thought of having to play through the whole game with that name. I might grow out of the name or something and I've already restarted a couple of awesome save files because of a crappy  rival name. I just can't do it anymore!

I tend to use different names in every game. Most of the time, it's just a random name. I remember naming my rival in Pearl Tommy. However in Gen 1 I always name him Gary, like most other people.

I just tend to give them one of the default names if there are already some. Like Tommy or Gary or anything like that. If not then I usually name them something simple, like bob or Jeff or just rival sometimes, just really basic names.

As for my own name, I do not use my actual name because I think it is too many letters, but I either name him Xero or Cyber or something cool like that, other times though I will just name him red, yellow or blue or something along the lines of that. I usually always name my rival in fire red Gary because its just his default name. But in other games they either have their default name or they have the most random name ever. One good thing to do in gen 4 is to name your rival fart because at one point his mom will say my fart blasted of like a rocket again.

The name I usually give my rival is not appropriate for Vizzed usually their default name, though if my rival's a girl, her name is Maddy. Maddy is a nemesis of mine in real life.
