Hello, it's ~Pikachi~ here! I'm coming up with an in-depth game review.? I am going to review in this order :
Graphics Sound Addictiveness Story Depth Difficulty ________________________________________________________________________________ Graphics
~ 9 ~
The graphics get a large 9. The graphics stood out from other games on the Nintendo 64. I remember when I was younger and I was just stuck on my GameBoy, and one day, I saw this game. Oh darn, how much I was amazed by those graphics was a lot.
I know they're not like, *zomg best graphics ever 7/5 + cookie* but they were very good for a lengthy game - and especially a kid who'd been playing tons of black and white Gameboy games for years. I love the designs of the characters and the shapes of items, and they were?definitely?great for the N64!
It isn't just the clean shape of the graphics, it's also the designs that stand out. I mean, look at dat mirror shield!
Sound ~ 7 ~
So you?accidentally?hit something hard with your sword. If you're unlucky, you might come up with an annoying sound. Yeah, that happens in Nintendo 64 games. Also, expect to perhaps hear some more annoying sounds. Grunting of the characters is annoying as well. I mean, how much can you take of Link going "Hyaah!" every time you swing your sword? Well I'm used to it, but I know a friend of mine that just can't take it.
But now that we've gotten the sound effects out of the way, lets move on to the music. Now this is something - many catchy tunes surround the game. I mean, play the entire game and tell me you couldn't find a catchy song in it. If you can't, just get the ocarina and play mini-songs with it (until you?accidentally?play an actual song).
Even though the sound effects may get annoying, and fast, the catchy music can easily reverse the ache in your ears. It is the meaning of catchy. I still whistle the song of storms today.
Addictiveness
~ 10 ~
How WOULDN'T this get a 10 if I continue to play the game for the 20th time, and still never even beat it? I mean, this is a game that you can really waste your time on. Plus, the glitches and the side-quests just make it funner. Who else has tried several times to beat the running man, then eventually found out he was impossible to beat?
Yeah... just me. Anyway, if I've been playing this game since I was like, 6 or 7 and still playing it when I'm nearly 13, it's?definitely a great, fun game that you should?definitely?play if you haven't already. I mean, I don't think I've met a single person who hasn't played this. Even most of my friends have. The rest I just don't know if they have or not.
And when you start playing, you won't stop. If you do, you'll pick it up again eventually. The 3DS port seems great too.
Story
~ 7 ~
What is with these stories? They're all the same thing. Either the world is in danger, a princess has been kidnapped or both. Sadly, this game isn't much different when it comes to the main base; but that's the main base. Say these are the three little shards of godly power. One represents power, one courage, the other wisdom. Gathering all three of these triangles will grant the first person to touch it (a bit like dibs) any wish they like.
Naturally, that means the bad guy, Ganondorf, is after this Triforce. He wants to rule the world, bla bla bla, same old thing. It is pretty thrilling in places, so the story gets a thumbs up here. Not a big one though.
Depth
~ 9 ~
Nine. That is a pretty darn big number, really. The reason I didn't give the depth a ten is because it could do with some more sidequests - ones that are a bit more rewarding too. Say, what if there was an extra temple that if you beat, you could get the refilling wallet that always has the max amount of rupees in? You'll have to work hard for that.
You could either stick to the main story, or play around and take a look at the?side quests?the game offers you. The thing is, once you get into Hyrule, there aren't really any limits. Sure, you're meant to go give this green stone to some princess or something, but why not check out Hyrule? Nothing is stopping you.
Difficulty
~ 6 ~
Well maybe it's off, ok then. But there is one thing we can all agree on. The geishdarn WATER TEMPLE. Who else bashed their head against their coffee table because they didn't know where to go as soon as they started the dungeon? Hopefully not just me, but darn that is the hardest thing ever. I mean, you'd give a 10 in the difficulty to something that requires frame by frame perfect glitches to get past 1 inch of a... say, 1,000,000 inch level. This game isn't that - nothing near it.
The game?definitely isn't easy either. I mean, the game is incredibly hard for people who have never?practiced?before, so try to do a little sword practice before moving on in the game. If you don't, then you probably won't get very far.
ANYWAY, That wraps up this review. The game is excellent - any flaws are covered up by other great things. Say, the sound is horrible but the music is great
.:~ FINAL RATING ~:.
