You should play the original silver for the game boy color since it includes two regions, so 16 gym badges to get. I don't actually know what Shiny Gold is it a gold remake for game boy advance? If so I Guess this isn't that helpful since they will be very similar.

Glaceonwhisper : It's hard to read off your layout...anyways I recommend Pokemon Crystal. It has great gameplay and depth, and it's better than the remake. (Heart Gold/Soul Silver) Emerald is also a pretty good game. Ahhhh, memories.

Well I played Pokemon Emerald. I finished the game but I still play it. I also play Leaf Green , Platinum , and Snakewood. Snakewood is not recommended unless you like killing zombies. My little brother played Flora Sky and said it was good. Light Platinum is also a good one. And Zelda was just being funny or weird. Or both.
