Let me start off by saying that I like Apple as a company. They make good-quality products and will fix them if they break. Ok her comes the rant:

First of, you can barely customize anything. I could customize more things on my old flip phone than my iPhone.The only things you can change is your wallpaper, you ring tone, and the order of your apps. On my current phone, the Samsung Galaxy S III, you can customize EVERYTHING. You can chose from not only regular wallpapers, but moving ones too. Unlike Apple, you can buy new wallpapers and ring tones in the Play Store (App Store), most of them for free. You can also use a combination of apps and widgets, anywhere on the screen on any page. Apple devices only have apps, and they have to go in order from left to right. The only way to really customize an iPhone is to jailbrake it. A jailbroken iPhone can do the same thing as a regular Samsung Galaxy.

Apple doesn't like to work with other companies. Any phone other than the iPhone, you press and hold 1 (or dial your voicemail number) to get your voicemails (which is run by your carrier (AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, etc.)), but the iPhone is separate and has its own voicemail system. Almost all phones in the world use the same charger - except the iPhone. I could go on and on, but I think you get the idea.

Ever try to view your files on an iPhone (without jailbreak)? You can't! Apple doesn't even want you viewing your own damn files! On my Samsung Galaxy S III (and most phones) you can view every single on of your files with a few clicks (or taps I should say).

I could have made this post 500+ words, but I don't think anyone wants to read that. You guys get the idea. What do you think? Do you like Apple? Why or why not?

Yeah I don't really like apple because of the lack in which you can customize your stuff, besides my iphone, and that is about it. I think you make some really good, valid points about the company. I had never even considered some of this stuff before you brought it to my attention, but I agree with you on this.

There are indeed a lot of flaws with the company, and the compatibility/ accessibility with certain things like you said, like viewing your files without jailbreak. I have nothing personal against the company, but I am glad that you made some of these points. I know they don't work well with other companies but you really brought up some good points about them that I hadn't really thought about. So good job with that. And yes I agree with you completely, I am glad you said what was on your mind about them, personally I always get a good feeling right after ranting about something that drives me nuts, but I completely understand your point on this. I agree with everything you said and I think they do have a lot of flaws with their company that could definitely use major improvement.

I do like Apple only because of their products like the iPod.

tgags123 : Yea, I just realized that Apple products does have lots of limitations which really sucks. But I luckily jailbroke my Ipod so I can at least customize it to the way I like it. Plus one really annoying thing is the fact you have to buy a lot of stuff from the app store to fully enjoy your Ipod. And also all the free apps are filled with lots of ads. And Apple even has a dumb policy for app developers that it can not modify the way the Ipod is like as if it's jailbroken which makes things really stupid. But other than that, I guess apple is ok.

I am not a fan of apple too. I always saw it as the "luxury OS." I prefer to be a PC gamer, and you never see gaming Mac's, so what message are you getting from that? 
I feel Apple is running out of ideas, they need to get their "stuff" together and create a new plan that can rise up to other products.

I haven't been really in favor of apple(the company) ever since i tried out safari,  Quite frankly after reading you're dislike reasons, only wants to make me avoid them even more lol.

I think Apple mainly has a very narrow appeal range. For the computers, they are fantastic for things like music and video creation programs. They are great for picture editing. Mainly that kind of stuff. But that is the field. If you aren't a musician making music, filmmaker making films, working with sound, or artistic creations, they pretty much have no real purpose for you. I do none of those things, so they might as well be expensive monitors for me.

I still don't buy smart phones simply because I have no use for it. My wife has one, so she can do the important stuff. Any use I would get out of it is playing phone games, which is not enough to justify the cost.

apple are jerks, they pretty much try to force you to buy everything related from them instead of 3rd partys.
they are forever suing other companys too.
On top of that they have sued so many people for using the name apple (like afruit shop, yes, real apples) andfor using an apple as there symbol (even fruit shops, again). I wasnt aware you could patent the image of a fruit.
plus, they blatantly operate a price fixing scheme which is illegal, I remember years ago looking at a certain upod and every store had the exact same price. that price never changed for over a year.

not really, I pay £15 (maybe about 24 bucks) a month on contract and getanewwphone every year that im allowed to keep, along with unlimited internet, 500 minutes and 5000 texts, which is actually quite cheap for this country. they gave me a samsung galaxy 3 this year.
next year il probably sell it when they send me anew one because they never ask for them back.

that works out at around 180 quid a year, which is what itd cost me to buy it new, pretty sweet deal, its like buying it and getting a years free service. of I get around 60 quid for selling it next year then I can count it as 120 quid.

thenumberone : Thing is, we have decided to save wherever possible. We are saving for a house at the moment. We are a couple years from being there. We have done things like canceled cable and use only the Internet to watch TV to save $100 a month. We turn turn the thermostat about 5 degrees higher than we like it except for while we are trying to sleep at night to save $140 a month. And I could get a cheaper plan by switching providers. But there is only one other provider here, and I did not like them at all. With my provider, a DECENT smart phone plan would be $35-$40 more than I pay now. So that is up to $480 a year. That is over a month's payment for my student loans. I have been fine without a Smart Phone, so there is no point getting one when we are saving for a house and barely making over our expenses. Because of my student loan payback started 2 months ago, it really eats a lot. And when my current teaching position is only 3/4 a position, I only get 3/4 teacher's salary. Pretty much the point of all this is our priority is having as much down payment for a house as possible so we don't have to pay as much a month in mortgage. If we reach our goal, we should qualify for a monthly mortgage payment that is less than HALF what we are paying a month in rent for the house we live in now. When we get that and I am bumped up to a full time position, then I'll upgrade

What I hate about Apple are their cables. I'm not mainly an apple user so it's a bit costly and a hassle for me to buy cables and adapters for an apple gadget when I have the standard versions and sizes of all the cables that I need, Apple isn't friendly with a non-Apple product. Lastly, they're totally expensive. Kinda like Starbucks when it comes to coffees.

well what i hate about apple i dont usually hate so yeah but things i dont ike is that their products are so expensive and the usb cables get messed up quick and how the ipod 4 generation had a lot a lag on games and it needed charge really fast  i just hated the cables and the fourth generation ipod it sucked but at least i dont have one i wouldnt want to waste money on something that is not that good or useful especially when it needs charge but over all i dont like some things about it so i dont hate apple though
