The title says it all. What video game would you make into a movie? for my answer, I would say Earthbound. I mean, it would make such a good 1970's movie. I'll tell you why. So this game is basically about an alien attack, and you play as a normal boy, then meet a psychic, then run into a genius, then into a prince. And plus look at the sprites of the title screen. And also the background (The screen that says'Earthbound, The War Against Giygas"). This would make a good movie in my opinion...what do you guys think? And say why you would make it into a movie, like I did.

I would make Mario & Luigi: SuperStar Saga into a movie because it just seems like the perfect game for a movie in my opinion. It would likely work out perfectly as a movie.

Wow you are on fire with making these threads man, how many is that today? At least 3 right? I would say it would be interesting if they made a sonic movie, there are a lot of characters to do and it could be easy to come up with a conflict in the movie because of Dr. Robotnik. I don't know if they have made one already, I have never seen it but I think it would definitely be interesting to see.


I also agree that it would be cool to see earthbound made into a movie. I would watch it, I think it would indeed be very interesting as well, good choice.

Razor-987 : Not to mention there was a TV show of Sonic. It's about as old as Kirby Right Back at Ya, but it can still be viewed on the Saturday morning where they view Dragon Ball Z and Yu Gi Oh. And somehow the Sonic X show is on auto-record so it records EVERY episode.

PacmanandMariofan : I'd love to see that as a movie. But I hate to break it to you but all kids like now is violence. I remember those Nintendo TV shows (The Legend of Zelda show and the Super Mario Bros show)

PixelBrick : oh my! I love the Super Mario Bros. show! I have a DVD of it from my dad and I have it on Netflix! I thought that show was pretty unique and I love how the creators of the show used Mario music and sound effects.

Yeah the sonic X one, it comes on at like 8:00 for me though. I have seen a lot of the episodes, they are pretty good. I haven't really watched them recently, but they com on really early on the toonaime channel or something like that. I think that the show is really good and I might start to watch it again sometime. But yeah I know what you are talking about, I use to watch that show all the time when I was younger and I really liked it.

I don't know about the whole Earthbound thing. Most of that really only would work in a game. The skeletal story is good, but a lot of the events that happen are just far too random and have very little to do with the main story itself. You would have to really change a lot of it to make it work as a movie. When you do that, it no longer has the essence that you loved in the game.

I think that Ninja Gaiden MIGHT make a decent movie. But given how almost all movies based on games turned out horrible in comparison toe the game, I still wouldn't have much faith in it. Typically, the less story development the game has, the more likely the movie would be good. Games that already have super detailed stories like a lot of RPGs just wouldn't work. Those are kind of like interactive 30 hour movies that have to be condensed in 1 and a half to 2 hour film. You just lose too much.

rcarter2 : Hey, that's the people who make the movies, not us. If you were to make a movie based off a game, I think you could do better. Those are the people who don't know anything about Retro games and want to be connected with their Ben Franklins and Andrew Jacksons

Razor-987 : I've heard of this cool power called 'recording.' I think you should try it. All you do is simply go to the Guide menu, and select the show you want to record. It's not rocket calculus. 

rcarter2 : I haven't heard of or seen a Mario Bros. movie. I'm not even going to ask you what it was like though. If I even tried creating a movie for Mario & Luigi: SuperStar Saga, it definitely would not go well. I'm terrible at props and acting and all that stuff.

PixelBrick : Probably the Metal Gear Series. Whenever I play those games I think "This would make an awesome movie series." I mean it's basically a movie with some parts you play.

Phoenix Wright. I know, they already have one, but I can't decipher Japanese. D=< I'd like it much better if they made a little more intriguing (as I've seen part of an Eng. subbed version), adding on content from the new AA5. I'd be happier if they made it in English. Oh my God, I can't imagine how much I'd pay for such an amazing movie.  

I would make super mario world and super mario bros 3 into a movie if I could.

I would love to see an Elder Scrolls movie. Any would do (Arena, Dagger-Fall, Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim) just because it would be awesome. Even without any of the side-quests it would make a dramatic master piece which could go flying off the shelves in shops.

PixelBrick : Cannot believe nobody has mentioned it yet. HEAVY RAIN! I believe it has already been announced that there will be a movie for it however on the off chance they don't bother I will say this. THERE IS NO GAME BETTER SUITED TO BE MADE A MOVIE! Hell the game was long enough to even have two movies. All the events of the game were basically predetermined so you didn't actually have much control over the game. It all depended on if you could survive certain events and how far you were willing to go to save your son.

A few others that I may mention would be Xenosaga, (They made an anime of the first game, maybe they could continue that) Digital devil saga, (Maybe not a great choice but they could make it work if they tried) Another game, I can't be certain but I believe it was called Scratches (Short but had a good story and since it was a point and click Puzzle/Horror I believe it would make a great movie) and Professor Layton. (They already made a movie and I loved that on so I could definitely do with another one)

I know there are a few more in my head somewhere but I can't recall any of the names or what they were like so that's all for now.

I would say Star Wars Shadow of the Empire, or Star Wars Commando. Those are really good games in my opinion that could be turned into movies.

Final Fantasy 8, I know they made a Final Fantasy movie but it didn't follow any game story line. And FF8 was one of my favorites.

if Earthworm Jim was a movie, that would be awesome. Seriously, Doug Tennapel, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? I haven't seen a proper EWJ game since the first two (well, except EWJ HD, and, even so, I still never saw a EWJ 2 HD.

The Last Of Us, definitely The Last Of Us. The plot is amazing, I love the characters, and it seems like the game could be made into a really awesome movie of epic proportions. I might be getting ahead of myself here, but I really love The Last Of Us.

PixelBrick : I'd have to say Jade Empire would make a heck of a movie. But I'd certainly settle for Jade Empire 2.

Damn some great ideas flowing yet I'd have to go with Assassin's Creed, surprised no one else has mentioned this yet, I think it would be awesome and you could make like a movie for Altair, 2 for Ezio cause he's pretty awesome and one for both Connor and Edward. Plus I think it has potential for some serious star power.
