Sorry to burst your bubble, but Internet Explorer is literally awful, and is definitely one of the worst browsers. The only other browser I know of that is at the same level of awful is Safari. They are both legitimately awful. They are sluggish, and do not offer some of the benefits that other browsers do. I have always had both of them crash on me frequently. I once had to deal with using Safari on a school Mac for a half a year. That was a horrendous experience. I have never actually had to deal with Internet Explorer, except in a few extreme circumstances. However, Internet Explorer is still on the same level of horrible as Safari, and they are both tied for the worst Internet browsers.

In my opinion it's Google Chrome and heres my reasons

1. It's so slow.

and 2. It takes up way to much memory and resources.

Surprisingly enough, Internet Explorer was not the worst browser I experienced... Sort of.

Back in late 90s/early 2000, we had a family computer with two choices of browser: Internet Explorer and Netscape. Internet Explorer sucked a LOT while Netscape was our savior! For awhile anyway.

I was looking around and noticed that Internet Explorer has an update like... two builds ahead of the one we were using. We did not get automatic updates then, or if we did, my parents ignored them, I assume. I updated Internet Explorer and then suddenly, it became the best dang browser ever for us! Netscape, meanwhile, was lagging behind, so I looked for an update for it. Nope, no updates available. Well, screw you Netscape, we were an IE family!

I remember hearing about firefox back then (maybe a year or two later) but because it sounded like a virus to me, I didn't touch it. Also, the computer eventually just died because my parents and sister totally downloaded things willy nilly and didn't know how to take care of a computer. (Meanwhile, they were blaming me cause I couldn't possibly know what I'm doing with a computer since I was the youngest). We later each got a computer for ourselves. Guess who's computer lasted the longest?

I decided to use Firefox on my new computer and have used it since. Internet Explorer had way too many pop ups, then (and I assume, now). I disabled IE on my computers (you can't really get rid of it, but minimize it popping up on you), never tried Chrome, but I have no interest in it, and Parents have Safari on their Mac which... I just find frustrating. I'd call Opera pretty lame also, only because the original Wii used it as a browser, and it crashed a lot. Might have been cause it was on the Wii though.

Overall, Netscape was the worst, but they aren't really around anymore. IE technically was worse at ONE POINT, but they managed to evolve into something better while Netscape kind of just died in a fire.

I'm sorry but I have to say Internet Explorer because that's just how it is. You have to accept it. Personally it's the only bad browser I've used.
The other I've used are Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Waterfox (a modified version of firefox) my favorite out of them being Firefox.
But Internet Explorer just ugh so sluggish it can't really do things well and to think that I used it for probably a year when I first got a computer before I switched to another.

All the hate for Internet Explore and all because of v7, v8 and maybe v9 - Nobody wants to give it a second-chance with v10 and v11, and, from experience of using v10 for a year, I've found no major problems with it; It's more secure, it does what you want it to do, and it's simple to use.
Now saying that, I'm currently using Google Chrome because it's faster for things I WANT to do, and when I load up Internet Explorer it does feel clunky and slow (It can be fast when it's loaded up).

I've used a variety of browsers in my time; Internet Explorer, SlimBrowser, Netscape, Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, MSN Explorer; and not once have I fully hated a browser, maybe disliked but that's about it. I feel that Google Chrome is one of the best browsers that's currently available to the masses, second would be a fight between Internet Explorer and Firefox (if they've fixed their memory leak problem) but I've not used Firefox in several years (not since pre-2009, maybe in 2007).

I'd tell people to give every browser a chance, even for a week, and see if their opinion has changed - I done this with Internet Explorer 10, on a whim, and I was pleasantly surprised with how smooth it felt compared to v8 (that last one I used, v7 was the last one I actively used). I've yet to do Firefox a test run, but that'll come eventually.

I am going to say this:

Suckle Croak!

See what I did? Google Chrome is literally the worst Internet browser I have ever seen. It makes every game I play miserably slow, and I mean like very-old-computer slow. Plus, it ate up about a gigabyte of data on my computer so yeah, stay away from Chrome!

On the other hand, Internet Explorer is the best browser I ever used. Runs all the games I play online at just about full speed except for some because of a 6 year old computer that is now dead because it simply died. No lagging or crashes except if a super rare shenanigan happens trying to load a page. Only very minor issue was that I couldn't get the official Cookie Clicker game to even work at all on IE. It would go into quirks mode no matter what I tried. Looked at official guides, tried everything, nothing. Chrome makes it work but like I said, it horribly lags your computer and makes it slow down because it takes up quite some memory.

Ranks of browsers I used:

Internet Explorer - Match made in Heaven
Opera (Wii) - Amazing
Safari (iPod) - Great
Google Chrome - whyismycomputersoslowomgcantplayanygamesonthisomgwthbbqohdangitcrashednow!

I actually don't like using Google Chrome. For some reason whenever I try to read my manga's on there once in while it just kicks me off the website I'm reading it from. Sometimes the manga pages don't load as well.

But the most IMPORTANT reason is...

it prevents me from making comments on my friends profiles from time to time.

I'm currently trying out the Maxthon browser (yes, they've got a browser) and I'm really enjoying it. It's got a mix of simplistic from Internet Explorer 10/11 and speed/security from Google Chrome. A handy feature I've found is when you've accidentally closed all your tabs, or just one tab, you can just do one click and get it back compared to two clicks in most browsers; And if you close all tabs, you'll still have one tab open so you can start afresh.

I'd suggest to try it, you might be surprised with this browser.

IE works awesome on my computer

Pretty much, Google Chrome is the worst on this computer. Its really slow and has annoying add ons, that I'm too lazy to remove because I don't use Google Chrome.

Other than that, FireFox is pretty garbage. Can practically do nothing with it. :/

Google Chrome has to be THE WORST WEB BROWSER!

There are SO many ads it is ridiculous and the only
way to get rid of them is to download an ad blocker
from the web store. You can not just use the pop-up
blocker like you can on most web browsers because
it does not help at all.

And forget about getting a
Google Chromebook. This
thing is so useless that you
can not even print pages
off the computer. You have
to either buy a separate
"Cloud Ready" printer or
connect your own to the
"Google Cloud" which is a
pain anyway. Google makes
a great search engine but...

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH GOOGLE CHROME!
