I just discovered this trick latley..First you need a yoshi.(that means you have to ride on him..)..
Go to the the first stage at the right of the map i don't know what his name..Then go straight to the check point.
Of course when you reach a block you will get a yoshi but you already have one..so they give you a 1up..
That where the trick begin get the 1up and then return to the map by pressing the start and the select button..
When you return  to the stage you wil end up at the check point after that go to the yoshi block and get your free 1up
If the trick is lame just close the thread
Do the trick as many as you want

That's really cool! I've never heard of that trick! I've only heard of the shell-stomping unlimited 1-ups trick that works in this game and a few other Mario games as well, even Super Mario 3D Land.

Nice trick, but that requires constantly restarting the level. The best trick (literally the best, non-arguable) also maxes out your point counter. Wigglers have different point/1up coding, so if you alternate between jumping on each one, you can get a 5up, 4up, 81 coins, 548230 points, etc.

You can do that with the secret exit of the first Boo House Level, first, go to the secret exit and complete it, then get a yoshi there, exit restart exit restart exit, etc, much faster, but it's more lately. xD
