OK, so I've been playing the FFXIV: ARR CLOSED beta on my PS3 and let me tell ya folks, it is AMAZING! I absolutely LOVE that game, which is saying something because from what I've been told the first release for it was a giant piece of GARBAGE. Has anyone gotten a chance to play it yet that played the original version? What are the differences? 

With the OPEN Beta SO close I thought I would make a thread stating what servers we will play on. For the CLOSED beta I was on NA/EU server Goblin with a few of my friends. I don't know what the server names will be for the OPEN beta but we should all be on the same one so we can have some adventures together
FYI all characters and quests completed will go LIVE with launch of the full game, so if you plan on playing the game, you might as well play the beta to get a head start on everyone, and if we are on the same server you will have even more of an advantage because I already know what to do from the previous betas

I haven't actually played this game before, but from the way you describe it, it sounds awesome and I am curious to play it some time. I like final fantasy games , I think they are awesome and I enjoy playing them when I can. I like the original too, I will play this one too though, sometimes you shouldn't always go by what everyone says, a game they say could be garbage, could actually be really fun if you try it. Glad you like this game!

They've actually re-opened the closed beta and they are going to leave it open all week! It's nice because usually they only give us 2 days to play it and close it for a whole week. I'm still waiting for a release date for the open beta, and once they announce it I will let you all know when it is. oh, and yea I usually like to judge things for myself instead of taking other's words on things, but I didnt have a computer that would run the original game at the time so i never got to play it
