Mine was when I had my first girl crush in middle school and didn't know what it was all about and never even heard of being LGBT until I was about 16. But I lost touch with her because long story short, my friend and I were playing around with her online, she blocked me, I emailed her (was no longer to see her in person) with a sincere apology, and she never responded to it

I also had a huge crush on another gorgeous girl this past school year, as a high school senior. This isn't really a ''story'' but i learned a great number of things, like to not look at my crushes too much. She got freaked out and told me she's straight. I told my guidance councilor about this and now the girl I had a crush on and I are friends, but don't talk too often anymore....KIND OF a ''happily ever after'' here...not really....

Never dated anyone before. Hoping to join my college's LGBT club and for better luck in college!!

Oh and I went to my city's (New York City's) Pride Parade last weekend and had a great time!!

By ''stories'', here are some questions to consider:

-Do you have any LGBT friends? What are your experiences with them? Maybe they had to ''come out to you''. How did you react?
-Have you ever seen any LGBT-related movies, movies, heard any music, watched shows like ''The L Word''? What did you think of them?
-Have you ever dated someone who was LGBT? What was your experience like?
-Has anyone who's LGBT had a crush on you and you were just plain uncomfortable with it because you're straight?
-Or if you're gay/lesbian, has someone of the opposite sex ever crushed on you? How did you feel?
-Have you ever seen two people of the same sex doing ''stuff' together? How did you feel?
-If you're LGBT, have you ''come out'' to your parents? If so, how did things go? If not, then do you plan on doing so?

I have a question. What exactly does LGBT stand for? I already have a few ideas but some clarification on them would be really helpful to answering this question. While I'm not gay or bi I am in tune with who I am more so than some people are and I'm not homo-phobic so this'll kind of be an interesting conversation to have.

The thing that gets me is the title and the grouping.  Why do people have to be LGBT?  Why can't we all just be people?  Human sexuality is diverse and no one person is the same, has the same tastes and preferences, or needs to be put into a group.

Kids, you're not gay, you're not straight, you're not bi-curious, you're not bisexual, you are a human.  Sex is fun, human bodies are beautiful, and you like what you like.  Nothing more.

warmaker : I agree but no one likes to see it that way, they want to be equal yet being put on their own pedestal and group at the same time and both of those are opposites you can't have it both ways. As for the OP's question to my knowledge the only experience is at high school there was a gay kid named lachlan who was there for about a year. He didn't really bother me even though he talked in that high pitched unnecessary voice and had a strange hair style. Live and let live is my motto unless you are purposely being sterotypical.

warmaker : Ever read Gulliver's Travel's? The Lilliputians had divided into two nations because half the people wanted to break their eggs on the small end, and the other half on the big end.

It was just to mock how humans love to group themselves. Her thread title could read : "Any people here with good braces experiences?" and you wouldn't have said "humans are just humans". But when it's about sexuality, everyone has to make some big philosophical reason why shouldn't group people together based on it. Well if people are set on "normalizing" it, why treat it differently than everything else? You are just trying so hard to make it "normal" that you are having the opposite effect. We will always want to relate to each other and find "things in common" and group together.

It's CAN be a bad things, it's cause war and racism, but it can be a good thing too.

I saw The N's show South of Nowhere, it was good, it was about two girls, one was straight but was attracted to this other girl who was bi-sexual. It had a happy ending.
There was a guy I went to high school with that really liked me, I wasn't uncomfortable with it, but being around him for more than an hour at a time, I just get sick of his lies. He always made up stories just to get attention, just got really annoying.

I am bi-sexual and engaged to a same sex partner. We have been together for... 4 years, now. I came out to my parents in 2011, it did not go very well at all in the beginning, seeing as I come from a conservative Christian household. But over the past few years, my family has come to be more accepting and there is less awkwardness. Let's just say we have learned to agree to disagree. I also happen to fall under the "T" umbrella because I am gender-fluid, and I have friends in that arena too.

I have to agree with something that @warmaker said. Human gender and sexuality is arranged in a bell curve. In other words, most people fall somewhere in the middle of both gender and sexuality. The statement that I agree with is that human gender and sexuality is incredibly diverse, and that no two people are exactly alike. It is the complex and unique mix of biological, physiological, and psychological factors that makes each of us who we are.

Well, I'm not sure if this counts as a "story", but here goes. I am bisexual. I figured it out when I first started getting crushes on people in high school. When it comes to attraction, I feel the same potential is there for both men and women. I've ended up having more relationships with men. I am currently married to a man. So while I'm not actively seeking a female partner or anything like that, I still find some women attractive.

I like to go to the pride parade in my city every year as well. (Unfortunately, I missed it this year due to one of my flights home being delayed!) My city is very LGBT friendly and has one of the larger gay pride parades in the world, I believe.

Annette : So then you aren't every tempted to do swingers stuff with ladies or anything then if you are bi? I hear a lot of people do that.   

Well, I myself am sort of bi-sexual.

For the longest time I thought I was just straight. I found out sometimes a couple years back (college) that I was bisexual. I found more than a few guys attractive. I still lean a little to the female side of the spectrum, and I've found more interesting women than men.

I've kissed three people essentially in my adolescent+ life. 2 women and 1 guy. The worst kiss was my kiss with one of the women.

I don't have a ton of experience, and I wouldn't say I'm looking for anyone (I have a girlfriend) but I still find more than my share of both men and women attractive.

I think ultimately, in the end, I will end up with a woman, because even though I find men attractive and I like spending time with them, it's impossible to have a baby with another guy. I really want a child in the end, and I'm not really sold on adoption or surrogate parents. Though that could change, who knows. I'm only 21.

I had one friend come out to me as a pre-op transgender as a male to female. I was okay with it but it took time to truly understand how difficult the whole situation was to her. I doubt that I still do but I guess the fact that I was supportive and wanted to be friends no matter what helped her out. I hope. And besides her, lots of gay and bisexual guys and girls but they didn't really have to come out to me. I usually either knew what they were about or did not care later when I did.

I thought The L-word sucked. It was just boring. And sure there are stuff like this out there but I don't care much of the content if I find it unintresting otherwise. Well, Oz was pretty hot.

Sure. A few bi-women. As far as emotions go it is the same as dating a straight woman. If you are bi, you go for the person,not the gender.

My most recent ex is a guy, though it did not end well, so I will never date guys again.

Yeah. My last ex- was a secretary so I don't date secretaries ever again. Also one really nasty ex worked as a counselor for children so now I hate kids too. Also there was one with a red hair so I don't like them either.

Brigand : No, because I will still be romantically attracted to females, unlike guys now.

UFC : I'm not tempted to do "swingers stuff". To me, it would still be cheating even if it was with a woman. I can't say for sure whether I'll ever try swinging, but at the moment it's not in the cards, haha
