Well the fundraiser went over $500 but I'm going to let it keep going anyway since it already went over the fund raiser amount. I've hired a guy to begin working on the SNES emulator so we'll see how much he'll be able to do with this budget. With $500 he'll be sure to be able to release an SNES emulator that can play many games but it'd require another fundraiser to support Mode 7 (as I've already mentioned) so I can either start a new SNES fundraiser or I can just let this one keep going.

We might have a beta emulator up within a week. Beta would mean it wouldn't support Mode 7 or sound. Most games would be playable just fine though, would probably play 90% of all games and 80% of those perfectly. There would be a save ram support as well, which means saving would be just like saving on the game boy emulators.

I see. I guess I'd have to take a closer look at those games to notice it. Everything seemed normal to me when I played them, but focusing on the action is what I did most of the time. I do remember watching some scenes from those games that appeared to have a 3-D feel. That must've been Mode 7 working.

Probably only 10% of games use mode 7 and of those 10%, a lot of those are playable without mode 7, just would have some small graphic issues but probably wouldn't affect game play. The only games I can think of that wouldn't be playable at all without mode 7 would be games like Super Mario Kart and Star Fox, pretty much anything that has a "3D" effect.

Mode 7 is the 3D engine that is used in SNES games, and hold your horses on the release date for the SNES, just get ZSNES so you can stop waiting.
