The good old game of trust.

The one thing that stands between you and murdering the entire human race violently is the fact that you trust that they won't do that to you first.

It takes a lot of trust in somebody to let them borrow a video game of yours, the worries of them snapping the disc, or breaking a case, all put to rest with the simple logic "He's my friend, I trust him" and so on.

Have you had any horror stories about that? What are your tales of lending, and are you good to have things lent to?

Personally, I can look after other peoples things, I show respect for their items greater than my own, but I've come across friends that ruin it all.

One time, I lent my copy of Portal 2 to my friend, and it came back a week later with cracks through out the center.

As if that isn't bad enough, a recent story has appeared.

I lended my friend a box full of my N64 games. It had everything from Hologram Majora's Mask to a Grey Donkey Kong 64.

So it was pretty much my baby.

About 50 games were in that box. He kept them in his locker over the course of 2 months.

The last exam comes up, and the locker locks were all handed over, and the staff cleaned out the lockers.

The staff threw everything out. Over 500 dollars of N64 games lost.

I can't trust anybody anymore.

What are your stories?

I have leaded quite a few games I had with my friends, but how I do it, they borrow a game from me and I borrow a game from them and so we don't give each games on different days, we tell when we bring it in and when we're give them back.

Yeah, I don't like borrowing anything out, even to close friends. I've gotten games back that have had grease stains on the book (if it didn't go missing) and gouges on the disc. After that, my games never went to my friends.

I will however, borrow them to my Aunt and Uncle. I don't want to, but I  can't say no to them. I trust them not to damage the disc or anything. Same goes for my brother. He's just as fussy as I am when it comes to taking care of games and such, so I have no problem letting him borrow games.

When I borrow games myself, I take excellent care of it them since I would expect the same treatment of my games.

I have had something bad happen when I let one of my friends borrow one of my games before so I thought to myself I shouldn't be letting them borrow them anymore.  I did however borrow games from my friends and I never messed them up, I always kept them in the case and didn't put smudges all over it.
