Man, who would of though within a year's time since the 1st sonic game, they really put in a whole lot of effort onto this game, the story taken place after the events of the last game, Dr. Robotnik wants to try and take over the world once again and he has captured your furry friends once again
Your plan is to try and stop his plans from taking over the world again, this time, Sonic isn't doing it alone, he's brought a sidekick known as Tails.
The Graphics:
The graphics in this game are just outstanding and with them putting a lot onto the graphics within a year is just amazing, that tells you they really want the Genesis to succeed, and what better to try and succeed with Sega's mascot than with Sonic. The background and foregrounds looks a lot more interesting than in the first game

The Sound/Music:
The Music in this game is well done for an early 90's game. In each of the Zones, you have a different tune that goes will with the level you're playing on which to my mind really helps out the player go though the level than without music. As for the sound, not a whole lot changed from the first game, but still, even with that, the sound and music is awesome nonetheless.
I give this a perfect 10 out of 10

The Addictiveness:
The addiction level is even higher that the last Sonic game, in this game you game a lot of things that makes you want to play this game over again, with all you can possibly do in this game makes you want to keep playing this game like bonus stages, experiencing each of the levels, fighting the boss, and just to name a few other things.

The Story hasn't much changed than from the last game, just with the exception of Tails being added to the story. You're trying to once again and stop Dr. Robotnik plans from taking over the world again.

The Depth:
They're a lot of new things added onto this game you haven't seen in the last game like new bonus levels, multiple paths, a lot of interesting new features, and a ton of other things. Also, you see a lot of cool and interesting enemies on this game. Plus you got 20 interesting levels or "Acts" to play in and each one are very interesting, Also, this is the first Sonic game with a multiplayer so if you have a friend, you can play with them on this and get a lot more content in the levels.
I give this a 9 out of 10

The Difficulty:
The Difficulty as a little easier than the first game, but the later levels you play, the harder the game becomes, but once you're used to those levels, the game can be very easy, although some parts of the game can be very difficult. If you're new to Sonic, you might not expect where some enemies because in a few levels, some of then can be hidden and you won't know where they're at till you get hit, but later on when you're used to it, you'll know where they're be at.

Overall, this game is very great to play no matter if you're a hardcore Sonic fan, or someone new to the series, this game right here, Sonic 2 is a very interesting game to play if you haven't already. It's a classic sonic game and it's recommenced to play this if you haven't played this game yet
