way back in time, before technology and hospitals, in a time people used herbs to heal a huge war goes on around
the lands, between the gods, humans and the creatures. the humans believed they could do whatever they wanted
and rule the land, the creatures did not believe it was fair that all the humans were taking all the food and water
and leaving them to starve, they both wanted the gods to do something but they refused and just sat on their high thrones.

So the humans and the creatures decided to take matters in to their own hands, the creatures gathered their friends
and went to all the fields and lakes and they guarded them, every time a human came by they beared their teeth and claws
and the humans would all run off.

the humans soon getting very hungry gathered their council and decided, if the creatures would not let them near the food
or water they would just take their spears and hunt them, destroy the creatures and save their towns from starving.
so the town built their spears and headed out.

however one of the flying creatures had been flying over at the time and flew off to warn his friends about this
surprise attack, he flew and flew then he told them all, the creatures went off and sharpened their claws and hide
preparing to attack back.

the humans finally reached the lake to find nothing there, they looked around and nothing but then
all the creatures jumped out and rushed towards them, the humans raised their spears and charged at the creatures
and so began a long fight. they fought day and night, many died both creatures and humans.

eventually after many long days and nights of fighting, the gods had enough of the noise and went to check what was going
on to find the war, the gods angry came down to earth and pushed the people and creatures apart, the gods finally noticing
it was a problem all decided to make laws. the humans were to share food and water with the creatures,in return the humans
were allowed to eat the creatures for what was now called "meat" and so the humans and creatures agreed and went home.

they lived their lives happy and free, never to fear starving again.

The end.

crazycatpup : OH!!! I JUST LOVE PICTURE STORIES!!!!

How long did this take you to do, with the pictures and all? Do you remember? And it seems the beginning is missing... Just pointing that out.

Albeit the story in and of itself was of relative short length, I figured it was worth the time to try and analyze it through my own (likely deluded) perceptions, so here goes nothing.

There seem to be some underlying themes here that are, shall you say, darker. Namely, themes of segregation and the meta-physical barriers humans set up from themselves and the harsh reality of the real world, a wall of dialectic and law blinding all who dare see the true motives of humanity.

First, the more obvious theme: the one of segregation. The story continues relatively regularly until the sixth paragraph, of which the "gods" forcefully create a society that tolerates things that are different than them, in return for considerably high rewards. While this may seem not much different from, say, a peace treaty, the difference is that humans and these creatures are infinitely and infallibly different. Warring nations of the same race can abandon their flag any time, but one cannot change the true physical properties and the way of life of vastly different races. That's where segregation comes in. Similar to the civil rights issues of the 19th and 20th centuries, one side - in the 19th and 20th century's case, white people, and in your story's case, the humans - had the vast upper hand. The humans in your story were destroying the very habitat the creatures lived in and murdering creatures for their own gain, and the creatures were practically defenseless to stop it. When the creatures did eventually rise and prove a worthy foe, the humans decided it would be in their best interest to allow the creatures to live their lives, in return for the humans to still be able to occasionally kill the creatures - whether it be for food or for other means - with no strings attached. The comparisons draw themselves.

Secondly, and perhaps more abstractly, there are deep philosophical connections between the overall "moral" of the story and the real world's humanity and sociology. The "gods" in this case - whether or not they be actual deities or a parliament, based on the connotations of the word "law" - forcefully try to create a utopia of which humanity freely kills creatures without any remorse, due to the separation of land - borders, nativistic sentiments, have at you, philosophers - and so-called "laws." This is highly similar to the real world, of which we have a nigh identical situation: humans happily chip away at the fragile ecosystem of planet Earth, pumping it full of pollutants and leaving a trail of plastic behind, unaware of the harmful effects they're causing.

Overall, I found the story enjoyable, if a bit short; that said, some of the best stories of all time are the shortest ones, so - who knows.
