According to recent press releases Microsoft and Fox just as recently as April 2013 have settle a war of the copyright of the name Killer Instinct.  Considering that it cost Microsoft some money (lots), and Rareware is owned by Microsoft.  Only one of two things could happen.  1 The original KI arcade game could be ported to the Xbox 1 Live Arcade or Killer Instinct 3 could makes it's way to shelves.

What do you think will happen?

I'm still disappointed that Rareware was sold to Microsoft but I can't change that can I.
I think Killer Instinct 3 will hit the shelves I don't think that they will put it in the Xbox 1 arcade after getting these issues resolved.
