I for one love remakes of games, because it adds a whole new expierece for the gamer. Sure the gameplay will be a little similar, but who cares it puts a whole new spin on things.

What do you think about it?

What exactly do you mean by remakes of games? Like an old game for nintendo remade for xbox 360 or something?

If that is the case there are tons of remade games, and they are pretty much all better than the originals obviously. lol.

Some games should be left alone though. The new ninja turtles game coming out for 360 looks awesome though!!!!!!

but you could never remake the classics like Double Dragon 2 and have it be better than the original

What else would a remake be? A remake is a remake.

Anyways, if the remake is good, I couldn't care less.

I like them, especially if I don't have the game anymore or if it it's on a portable system so I can take it with me on trips. And bonus if they added extra stuff to the game!

I have both copies of FF4 for GBA/DS.

Remakes, are wonderful, especially the ones of old games that are rare to find, or a bit TOO pricey. Remakes should be fully remade, like remaking a 2d game in 3d, and should have extra content, and should be JUST a port.

I think there should be more retro games remade, Bionic Commando turned out great in my opinion.

Id love to see these games remade with the same storyline etc. in full 3d...

I think you may misunderstand the meaning of 3D. 3D means that you can move in more directions than up,down,left,right. Unless, of course, the game would be good in 3d, it should be just remade in 2 1/2D(3D graphics, 2D gameplay)


Garth: Yeah, those would be some great remakes. But they've already made Megaman X. It's for the PSP. MegaMan X: Maverick Hunter. Sorry Garth, but you're remake is in another castle

I really don't like remakes. Most of the time I just stick to the originals, they always seem to be better.

Why would you want Terminator 2 for the NES remade, that game was f***ing terrible.

Also, that new Turtles game was an awful port of the Arcade version.

Venom, when you mentioned Bionic Commando being a good example of a great remake, did you mean Bionic Commando: Rearmed, or the 3D version released a litte while afterwards. Because I hope you meant Rearmed.

Also, Xfighter: a remake of Terminator 2 could be a great idea. The fact that the game was terrible is a perfect example of why it should be remade. The movie and story have great potential for creating a great game. Instead of being a remake of the game, it would be a game based off the movie. We can all agree, most of the time, games based off movies are terrible. A great way to avoid that trap for a T2 game is to create a game based off the movie, as well the following trilogy of books.

And also, the Turtles game is stuck somewhere between a port and a remake. The reason it was terrible is its stuck in the past, where what was acceptable then is definitely not now.

But the NES port of it was just mostly a monotonous beat-em-up/platformer.

I agree with you on that one. But, even though he listed the game as an NES title, I wasn't sure if he wanted more the game to be remade for the sake of him liking it, or because he wanted a T2 game that could do the movie justice.

I like some remakes of games.Like the remake of SMB3.They did a remake for SNES,and one for GBA.

I like remakes of most games. Some are good, and some aren't.

some of them r really good but some are terrible for example pokemon red, blue and yellow, really good games but, fire red and leaf green are terrible but younger gamers love them beacause they think they are the first good games but becasue pokemon was 1-4 yeasr old when i was younger i loved all the origioal like gold sliver and crystal but with the addition of the new ones i.e. heart gold and soul silvr i have very mixed fellings.

I don't mind remakes but I would love if they would include as an unlockable the original game it is being remade from.You can compare the two that way and see how they changed with the new technology,especially if you did not have the opportunity to play the original.

I like remakes too because like tribal hero said, it adds new twists in the game but still keeping the game similar.
