IgorBird122 :  I just want to let you know that testing games isn't necessarily about 'finding glitches'.  It involves finding games that do or don't work, and trying to find out if they can be made to work.  I don't think it's quite what you're hoping it is.  (Just in case you didn't notice, I'm a game tester, so I know what the job is about.)  I test MAME games, so I'm not sure how much different it is for other systems.... but just in case, you should probably find out what the game testing position is about fully before applying.

That advice goes to anyone, really.

Davideo7 :  I can personally vouch for mrfe, as I started to train him a couple of months ago. I'd like to continue training him if he's up for it.  That would save both me, tRIUNE, and any other people you hire.... well, a lot of time.

tRIUNE :  Can you post a brief description here of what it means to be a game tester for the other systems?  Does it work like the MAME testing?

Welp, for anyone who will be hired for game tester, MAME is definitely the most complex game system to test. The other systems you'd just be required to test out a few games at first and I'd make sure you marked the game errors correctly, and then I'd continue to monitor the games you test until I feel comfortable that you don't need to be monitored.

tRIUNE:  But it's not testing for glitches per se, right?  Just checking to see if the games do or don't work?  Or if their graphics are glithcy or sound is glitchy?  When I think of game 'glitches', that's not what I think of.... I just wanted to make sure Igor and everyone else here knew what they were applying for.

Ok yeah, these are the error you will be testing:

Loading: Game doesn't work or is unplayable
Graphics: The graphics have problems but the game is still playable
Sound: The sound isn't playing properly or not at all

Hey David, I have been waiting for you to make this thread for over a month now. Unfortunately, the staff position I was hoping to fill is not listed. However, I will still break down the position I intended to apply for that I spoke with you about a few times in the past month or so.

First of all, I am 21 years old and I am trusted. I spend my spare time on my laptop for most of the day. As you know, I am always hanging out in Netplay. As somebody who has been around Netplay since it was launched, I have learned a lot of the ins and outs of Netplay's glitches and desyncs etc. As you know, I am always willing to help you and anyone else test Netplay when they require assistance, and have done so many, many times. I feel that I am the perfect person to fill this role, as I test Netplay games anyways for my own entertainment.

The role I would be comfortable filling is someone who tests all multiplayer games that are available to Netplay, on all the available servers (including any new server hosts), and testing them with people from different parts of North America, as well as other countries like Brazil and UK for example. I would likely need a thread somewhere to report all of my results in a day or week, depending on how often you will require me to run tests.

I own a laptop that I take to school with me, so I have access to my own computer for many hours of the day, every day. I believe that I spend closer to 20 hours a week on Vizzed, so dedicating my time to the site is not an issue. I want Netplay to be popular and successful and I want it to run as smoothly as possible, so I want to do what I can to help make that happen. I hope that you have confidence in me and believe that I am the right person for this position.

Can I take GuardianZack's position of graphics adder instead of being screenshot adder? Graphic adders add all graphics (including screenshots) correct?

It looks like nobody has put any effort into their applications... that is too bad. It makes it much harder to choose between people and determine who is going to take it seriously.

The people who entered should resubmit their applications and put an honest effort in this time. If you aren't going to put an effort into putting together an impressive application, then you don't care enough for the position.

I'm a happy trusted member on this site who loves the community and RGR. I'm online a lot (usually around 11 AM to 1 or 2 PM) I love to play games a lot, so I can enjoy all of what the game has to offer. Thus looking at every detail. This could help as a game tester being able to spot almost all the little things. I have a Windows 7 laptop that Goes pretty fast and is fast with games so I can play Tons of games in short period. That's one reason I applied. The other is that I want the site to grow even better by helping as much as I possibly can.

Davideo7 : Question does the screenshots need to be new or can  it be any screenshots. The reason I ask cuz I might be interested in becoming a screenshot adder. I already have more then 250 sumbitted to vizzed

Davideo7 : I have tried hosting before, and it works great on the new servers. Are there any other positions I can apply for? I don't go in the RGR much, but I would apply for the Game Tester Position. That would get me back in the RGR.
