Really you should try to learn CSS alongside HTML. CSS code works alongside HTML to make website layouts look pretty.

Annette : Yeah, that link I mentioned, I used that when I used to be an admin on one of those video gaming site with user-created games and linked games, so yeah, that was pretty much where I learned both HTML and CSS from, it's a great source to get and the links you mentioned are pretty good to check out as well if the link I mentioned is too complicated.

I learned all of my HTML skills by myself. I just messed around until it worked. And if I couldn't figure something out, I just did a quick Google search. Trying to figure it out is the best way to learn in my opinion.

I used a book, SAM's Teach Yourself HTML in 24 hours, but this was back in the bad-old days when CSS wasn't even standardized yet. And I don't think the book was really necessary, but everything was laid out in a really easy to follow manner.

Probably the best way is to look at other sites and see what they do. In most browsers you can press CTRL+U to see a site's HTML, and in Chrome, you can right-click anything and select Inspect Element to see how something was done. I suggest finding some sites and doing this--but not Vizzed, since it uses obsolete and broken code, and will teach you incorrectly.
