Graphics- 7/10
Jet Moto, let me tell you a little about this game... now, this was one of my favorite games to play ALL the time. When I wasn't able to play the other games, or when I really just didn't want to play them... this was one of the games I would jump straight to, and have a blast with the thrill of the ride. Because the game often moves at such a HIGH speed and completely INSANE control system, you often don't have the time to preview where you are at... but you do know that you need to stay on track. Now, this game has done what very few games choose to do... instead of using basic layouts for characters and maps, the have built into the game photos of various locations and copied them all throughout the level. More or less, imagine it as if you are racing at about 80mph+ on a giant painted canvas... that is pretty much what Jet Moto is. It's high tech racing on a "hovering" sort of vehicle, able to be used on ALL tracks and doesn't need to be replaced with anything else. The smoothness of the tracks is highly noticeable, so there won't be much vibration or sudden clicking and erroing when racing on the tracks... it's more or less, a smooth ride with a lot of turns.
Sound- 7/10
Along with the graphics of this game, the sound is also unique and impressive in it's own fashion. With music ranging from heavy metal to even techno, your ears will be tuned in for whatever plays next. You will be hyped up and ready to deal out some butt kickings on a whole new level, or should I say... on a whole new world. Every aspect of this game has been designed around actual places in our world such as "The Great Pyramids", "Antarctica", "The Ruins of Spain", and many others... with each area coming with it's own style of music, you just never know what is going to get you nodding your head as you fly across the map... slamming into other players, slamming into invisible walls and slamming into various objects that may somehow be in your way.
Addictiveness- 9/10
Now, when it comes to actually playing the game... and not just surveying the area, there is so much you can possibly do. Whether or not you want to race properly, or whether you want to spend the entire game doing tricks and stunts... there is a huge number of ideas and events you can try. Each vehicle has it's own level of handling and speed, as well as drift and grip... many racers also come with their own level of experience, so you'll have to find one that fits you best. Then, as an even more challenging concept... each world comes with it's own layout, some easier for other drivers that you don't use... and some harder. The only way to know is to play them yourself.
Story- 1/10
Since this game is simply designed around a whole bunch of racers wanting to earn the gold and be known as "The Jet Moto", the story is far too bland and simple... but with what this game has to offer, makes up for every second of it.
Depth- 7/10
Throughout this game there are chances you will encounter a whole new place or location, even boosts as well as upgrades to make this game better for you. You can encounter tons and tons of turbo, as well as various things that will block your path... sending you head on into a collision with a wall. Because this game just doesn't stop there, once you crash into something... there is a high chance that your character will go flying off his/her ride and be sent slamming into another wall or skipping across the track like a lifeless body. Every area comes with different interactive hidden paths to explore and some even confuse you... some scare you into thinking that you can't pass because it's lava, but actually... it's a secret path to the end.
Difficulty- 6/10
This game has a somewhat difficult setting no matter what (unless you put it on EASY, then all the AI kind of just derp around and slam all over the place). But in all seriousness, each level comes with it's own difficulties and challenges... each level has things that will hurt your race or help your race, so be wary of where you go... there are so many things that can be in your way... like whirlpools and trees, walls and bees... falling ice and exploding lava. This game is about taking chances, learning to drift as well as to have full control, and learning to stay FAST!
Overall, this has been one of the most exciting game series for me... and if I had all of them, I wouldn't trade them for any thing (except maybe Final Fantasy VII).
