i have 3 types i like, fire, rock and dark.  i like the fire type because of the fire moves they get, rock because they are resistant to most types and dark because they look cool.  when i can i usually have these three types in my team at all times.

If you are asking about Water or Normal, I would say Water. I use Water types way more than Normal types, and it seems that Water types are a necessity for all teams. 
Overall, I would say Fire types. Heh, Charizard is what makes me adore Fire types in the first place. Many times, when I have a Fire starter, they can basically handle most other Pokémon, even if he/she doesn't have a type advantage over it. Say a Water type goes against my Fire type. Even though Fire is weak against Water, my starter is too OP for opponents to handle, and so I easily beat em.

My favorite Pokemon type would have to be Psychic. Ever since I watched Sabrina on the first season of Pokemon, I enjoyed how overpowered they seemed. And since Alakazam is my favorite out of all the Pokemon, it would make sense for me choosing Psychic type.
