Is Zelda better then Pokemon? I think that Zelda is a bit better then Pokemon. I always loved the new gadgets they give link in the games. The temples and puzzles, and the amazing boss fights.

No offense Jaws123, but it would be better if you gave some more insight into it.

Like for example, both of them are equally unique and special to have a first time playing.

Now, when you get down to the fine line, it all depends on what time of game you are looking for.
If you're more for games where it's almost a never-ending story, then Pokémon is more of your taste... but if you're more for games where it's a designed story around the common idea, then Zelda/Link games are more of your thing.

In general, since Zelda and Pokémon are a lot alike... both use HP as their life points situation, and they both require battles amongst enemies. You also have to vary between battles that take turns, or battles that are in free-mode. Do you want a game that requires each person to have a FAIR chance, or do you want a game where it's mostly luck for many of the fights?

I've seen people who play like Zelda for the SNES, and they can't even kill one enemy... but when they go on Pokémon, they just annihilate everything. In general, I don't believe one is better than the other... both have influenced my life into other games as well, with Zelda/Link games... I began to become more fond of games like Final Fantasy and others. With Pokémon, I became intrigued by games like Yu-Gi-Oh and Digimon as well.

It's pretty much an open idea more or less, but regardless of the fact... you have to admin, both games have gone SO FAR in the world today, that both deserve their own fair share of respect from one another as well as from the gamers who play them. Even if you don't like one or the other, I believe it's only fair that you give your respects for the effort put into these games and how long they have managed to last throughout the ages.

SacraRain: It's weird because when i was first making this thread there was a huge amount of detail, but then i accidently clicked enter without a title and it didn't submit but it erased all my writing. I was mad so i just made a small one without much detail.

I see where you are coming from. I, as well love both the series. I still love pokemon but for me PERSONALLY i like zelda. But as you said there is a lot more to compare. Both series are amazing and have their own amazing things about them that make them what they are. You are a deep thinker and i respect that. I appreciate your well thought out response.

Of course Zelda is better then Pokémon because in Zelda you don't have to worry about leveling up and well at least its a story where link has to save Zelda from ganondorf.

First, I think this should go into the Video Game Discussion forum.
Second, I think that Pokemon is way better in both the RGR and in cartridge form.

I think Zelda is a little better than Pokémon because in every Zelda game the storyline/plot is different and each title brings something new to the franchise, where  as Pokémon is very repetitive and basically your doing the exact same thing in each game just with basically 50-100 actually new Pokémon for each game.

The more I think about it... in my personal opinion, Pokémon is better. I mean seriously, the games are amazing... and even the movies are epic.

Heck, if you don't believe me watch "Pokémon The First Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back" and then get about halfway through the movie, then you'll break down and cry your freaking eyes out.

I did already, and no matter how many times I watch that movie, I will cry every single time I see that one scene... it shows what it means to have a true friend, to have someone you can be close to... even if you're completely different from each other.

SacraRain : Some people don't feel the same way about Pokémon and I am sure you understand that lol. I could never cry to a Pokémon movie ever. And yes...I've watched them all...
As for the question

I love Zelda much more better than Pokémon. I tried so hard to get into Pokémon because it is apart of Nintendo...but it is all to boring to me. I understand that in Pokémon you are to get Pokémon and become the best trainer, collect all of the Pokémon...etc. But it is too much of the same thing. Zelda is the same thing too. In a series, it is SUPPOSED to be the same thing...but if the same thing is always boring and non-innovative, then well...it won't be liked. The only thing Zelda and Pokémon has in common is the RPG elements that it has...everything else is far different. I find it funny that you will not have an emotional relationship with your Pokémon in the game like they do in the movies though.

Sometimes I think people on both sides is a little biased. Only a person who truly likes both could actually decide which one is better. But deciding which one is better is impossible due to opinions. So in my opinion, I like Zelda better.

Bluey5 : Yeah, that's the only thing that bugged me about the Pokémon games... unlike the movies, there is no human & Pokémon relationship of any kind. Nothing but battles and traveling... where's all the outside extra stuff, like spending time with your Pokémon and not just battling all the freaking time.

Oh well, you can't have it all I suppose... but I do hope that one day they'll create a game where you can just take care of your Pokémon, just... allow more things you can do with your Pokémon, like brush them and feed them... pet them, and all those other affectionate things.

I do not like high fantasy Role Playable Games, so I am going to say that Pokemon is better for me personally-but I'd imagine that The Legend of Zelda is better overall.

i enjoy the variety of Zelda games on this site, Quite frankly I like the pokemon games too, but what really annoys me is how many reviews they constantly get, overall if I have to become through for one of them I would pick zelda because I played that series longer and had a better time with it.
