I'm back with Chapter 2! I'm posting this in a separate thread because I would've needed a buffer post that I probably won't get to post what I want to. So here it is! Here is chapter 1 https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=58011 for those who haven't read it.
My flashlight shined around the cave. Everything but the entrance was still there. I shined my flashlight around the room, and found at least 7 or 8 pathways, all leading down.

"It's OK, we have food and water, some one is bound to find us soon, right?" Gavin asked nervously.

"We'll be fine. We just have to go through the tunnels and see where they take us," Greg said.

"Couldn't we just dig our way back up?" Bill asked nervously. I couldn't believe I hadn't thought of that, and by the looks on everyone else's face, I could tell they were thinking the same thing. We all started boring a tunnel through the spot where we had first came down in. The dirt wasn't very tightly packed, making it easier to dig.

We had been digging for a half hour, when I came upon a rock. It was a big one, so I decided to dig around it. I dug left, and right, and up, and down. This rock seemed to surround our only way out of this place, like someone put it there on purpose to entomb us.

"You guys," I called down, as they were in separate tunnels, "I think we're trapped," They all started freaking out. My mind was twisting and turning, wondering why this had happened and how this had happened and if I would die and my head hurt, and I lost my hand hold in the sloping tunnel I had dug. I tumbled  down to the rock and slammed my head on the hard packed dirt floor, and blacked out.

I woke up in a haze. I couldn't tell if 5 minutes had passed or 3 hours. I felt a warm liquid on my head; it was blood. Gavin and Bill were looking at me, while I could see Greg in the distance examining the rest of the cave. My vision felt blurred, but I felt OK enough to stand up.

"Are you OK? You were out for a good 25 minutes," Bill asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine. What's Greg doing over there?" I asked.

"He's looking for a way out. Looks like we are going to have to go over and help him," Gavin told me.

"OK, I'll rest here for a couple of minutes," I replied to them. I leaned up against the dirt wall where the tunnel used to be. I took out a bottle of water and washed off my wound. I got up, and walked back over to the guys. The caves were a lot smaller than this big room. It made the room seem like Grand Central Station, with all these tunnels branching out. Most were out of reach, up above us, but there were a few near ground level.

"There is no way we can know what is going to be down any of these caves. Let's just go down this one, and see what we find. They all look the same," Greg said to me, Gavin, and Bill.

"Alright. Let's just get moving, or our mom's are going to freak out. They'll probably freak out anyways, but... you know what I mean," Gavin said.

We walked down the tunnel in near silence. It seemed to be going deeper in to the heart of the Earth, and when I finally forced myself to check my watch, I found we had been down in this cave for an hour and a half.

"Guys, this is going nowhere," I began, "We've been walking down this tunnel for a half hour and still haven't gotten anywhere. We've seriously got to consider the situation at hand. We could-" I heard the sound of bats in the cave below. Gavin, who was scared of pretty much any animal, started freaking out.

"Bats! I hate bats, they are disgusting, don't let them touch me. Are they close OH MY GOD THERE RIGHT HERE," Gavin was yelling. He started running back up the cave as bats flew past our heads. They caught up to him easily, and he let out an ear piercing scream. It ended almost immediately.

"Gavin! Are you OK?" Bill asked.

"Yeah, I think they just passed right through. That wasn't very bad..." Gavin replied. Suddenly, another wave of bats tore through. They all went the same way, top speed out of the cave. I thought it was odd, but took no notice of it.

We continued walking through the tunnel for about 5 minutes before we came to anything. We found another one of those rooms! This one was huge, probably bigger than the other. Another wave of bats flew right past us and up the tunnel. I turned my head and watched as they flew up. I walked forward in to the room, now carrying a flashlight. We were on a small ledge, only about 10-12 feet up from the bottom of the cave.
"Hey Greg, can you pass me the rope? This place is amazing! I've got to go down there and check it out myself," I yelled back to Greg.
"Yeah, it's all amazing until you remember we are trapped in a cave underground with no signs of us finding a way out anytime soon!" he replied.
"Chill out. Once our parents realize we are gone they'll come looking for us," Bill interjected. Bill never worried, which usually got him in to trouble sometimes. If it weren't for him, we probably wouldn't have dared going in to this cave.
Greg handed me the rope, and I tied it to a 3 ft tall spike sticking out of the cave floor. I climbed down the rope, and searched around. There were stalagmites hanging from the ceiling that were nearly 50 feet long. The cave was alighted with shining, glittering things as soon as I shined my flashlight on them. Bill, not wanting to miss out on anything, climbed down the rope and looked around with me. I beckoned Gavin and Greg to come down, and I got Bill to come down, yet Greg refused.
"I'm not coming down there just for the rope to get loose, and strand us down there," he told me.
"Well you're really missing out, this place is-," Bill got cut off my another sound of rumbling. It sounded nearly exactly the same as the 2 times we had heard it before, except this one was much louder. We proceeded in sprinting back to the rope, while Greg ran back through the tunnel screaming at the top of our lungs. Thinking back on it I like to think I didn't, but I was screaming just as loud.
I took some time to look back at what had made that sound. It looked almost like a humanoid, and was at least half the height of the cavern. He appeared to be made of dirt, but I knew that couldn't be right. Some mutant animal hidden from our existence secluded in a cave. I thought it was just covered in dust or something.
I saw Gavin scatter up the rope first, and than Bill. The monster thing was gaining on me, but I still had some ground. I leaped up, and grabbed the rope. I climbed up and over the ledge. I could see this thing's outstretched hand reaching for me, leaping easily on top of the ledge. I pushed myself in to one last sprint, leaped for the tunnel, and ran up the upwards slope. The monster's hand and arm filled up most of the tunnel width wide, and its outstretched fingers were grasping for where I was just a half second ago.
"That was really close," I told everyone, without really realizing what had just happened. But their attention seemed to be focused on something else. I turned towards them, and saw what they were seeing. A group of about 12 or 13 people, all about 3 feet tall with long, pointy ears. Elves.
That's the end of Chapter 2, I hope you liked it . This one was a bit shorter, but Chapter 3 will be a longer one (I promise!) Thanks for reading!
