I don't join many forums, so this is still a novel experience for me. I don't particularly like social networks like Facebook or MySpace either, but this site is too amazing to pass by. Considering the nature of the beast, I'll introduce myself by talking about my favorite genre of game.

I've been an avid fan of role-playing games ever since I first played Final Fantasy on the NES. In my opinion Final Fantasy peaked at #7. I've played 1-10, Tactics (PS & GBA), and Mystic Quest. I think that FF 10  was a disappointment to the franchise. I know there are many who would disagree with me, and that's fine. But I really wish they would have focused a little more on plot development instead of flashy effects. Sometimes I wonder if anybody else senses a drop-off in plot quality exchanged for more advanced graphics...


Most underrated RPG: Legend of Dragoon. If you have access to an original PlayStation, or some way to play PS games, I highly recommend trying it. If you like RPGs you will not be disappointed. Every attack (excluding the character that uses archery) is a combo to be executed, most of which can provoke a counter attack if you're not careful. You gain access to a powerful transformation that is actually not always the best option in combat. And the Defense battle command actually heals 10% of the character's health and prevents status effects. Check it out!

You know, I usually don't join forums either.  However, I've been here for less than a year, and I've got to say I'm hooked.  I can't see myself ever leaving this place, as I love it very deeply.  I don't even have a facebook or myspace, but I can handle this site.  

We're definitely glad to have you here, and I know  you'll find tons of people that like the games you do.  This is a great place to make friends, play games, and grow as a person.

And yes, LoD does have magic. Unlike many other RPGs though, they wanted to make magic a rare, powerful thing. Which means you don't get access to any character's magic until they can transform into a Dragoon. Every character resonates to a different element as well, which effects every aspect of the magic they can cast. Even the most burly, tank-like character (Kongol) has powerful magic when transformed.

  I have to admit that FF10 had its good points. I liked the sphere grid, and I liked the blitzball games, and having the summoned creature actually fight instead of the party was a nice touch. I guess I was just disappointed by the storyline because the antagonist was a perpetual cycle of hero become rampant destroyer. Then I watched an ex-girlfriend play through a large chunk of FF10-2... And I really won't say any more about it because I don't want to offend anyone. Thanks for understanding, Pray75, I really don't want to step on anyone's toes; it's just how I feel.
