There is not really much point. They were remade for the GameBoy Advance, and the Pokemon in those games can be moved to the DS games.

I played the old versions of red and blue when i had my original gameboy, and then i got pokemon yellow when it came out and i played that game a lot, I'm kind of disappointed, in the new version remakes of red and blue, they took away the glitches like the part where you can capture a mew when I read this part on the Internet I'm like f***

Interestingly enough, the only pokemon games I ever played were the original Blue/Red and also Gold. I actually used to own Gold on the Game Boy Color, and I played quite a lot. Sadly I lost my game boy, so now I have no choice but to play it on vizzed.
