Which version of Super Mario 64 do you like better? Remember to be specific and tell me why you like a certain version better. I like the original SM64 better because it's easier and I find it a real pain when I can't do a long jump followed by a long jump in the DS version. I end up just bonking into the wall. The DS version is also a lot slower (which is SUPER obvious by the way). Please reply! I can't wait to hear what other people think!

Super Mario 64, the original. I have tried Super Mario 64 DS, and while it is pretty good, I do not honestly like the fact that you can play as the other characters, Wario, and Luigi. Too me, it is just a remake of the original, and... just no.

I will have to go with the ds version on this one it made three other characters beside mario playable not just that it also had a wide variety of minigames and also even had multiplayer in the game.Super mario 64 ds wasn't just a remake it was a improvement as well.

Even though technically the DS one is better, I'd still prefer the original. I also didn't like that you could switch characters, and controlling it with the d-pad, though not as bad as I thought it would be originally, still just isn't right. I'd also prefer the N64 graphics, because even though they aren't as well detailed, they look cleaner.

I like Super Mario 64 better than Super Mario 64 DS because the controls feel better on an Analog Stick than on a D-Pad (especially when it's a 3D game) and for getting all the stars you just have to be Mario through out the whole game and I found it tedious switching between Yoshi, Luigi and Wario.

I prefer the original because I don't find the gimmicks introduced in the DS version to be that good. I also don't like playing a game like that on a handheld because it just feels strange. It's kind of difficult to explain. To be honest, I am just not the biggest fan of handhelds in general.

I can honestly say my true thoughts on this ,because I've played both versions on the console they were made for. No emulators, I've played the DS version on a friends DS and I have the Nintendo 64 one, for my Nintendo 64. I can honestly say I like the Nintendo 64 one better, purely for the nostalgia, glitches, controls, and most importantly; the messing with Mario's face. The first ten minutes playing on the game were just messing with Mario's face.
