What do you think of Fluorescent Light bulbs?  Are they good, bad or ugly? I don't think they are good or bad, they save energy, but I really don't like mercury in a lightbulb.

I once worked a particular Warehouse that had no windows and a ton of those kind of lights.
After going a week of 10 to 14 hour days? You can practically feel your soul being sucked out of you.
During the shifts that you see sun going in and the moon coming out? Not so bad.
During the shifts that you see the moon going in and the sun coming out? No so bad again.
During the Shifts that you seen the Moon going in and coming out??? Terrible.

You can loose track of time real quick.
A Month would pass and you wouldn't notice.
Does not sound so bad till you miss holidays, and birthdays, and anniversary dates.

After a while you start to wonder why you pay rent.
You are always at work.

Glad I am not in that hole anymore.

They're terrible for homes, but they are good for offices, schools (bigger places). They spread out light better, but they look ugly. Imagine walking in to someone's house, and seeing one of those huge fluorescent light bulbs hanging from the ceiling . The energy saving bulbs just don't spread out light well enough for big places.
And that annoying humming sound! 7 hours in school with that does stuff to you. *shudder*

Oh man, I love it when you browse around the forums and find threads like these, that show someone was terribly bored. lol These kinds of things are always fun. For some odd reason, I enjoy such small talk. Whatever the reason, I must say they are good. The light they give off is much better than the average incandescent light bulbs. I hate the yellowish shade of light they give off.

I like them more because when you have a normal light bulb, it makes the air look dirty to me, but with a Fluorescent Light bulb, the air looks a lot cleaner and makes me want to be in it .
