A new beginning, a new day
A fresh pair of sneakers and I'm on my way
Out the door, take a run through the crowds
Suddenly an explosion, deafening, so loud
All my brothers around me, lying on the ground
A child left motionless, not making a sound
I know this is a nightmare, it all just has to be
I'll stay here in wait until somebody shakes me
The horror of it all, is with the pain I start to see
This is not a clever joke, but a brutal reality.

I think about giving up, who wouldn't want to die?
In a world this evil, but then I realize
Through all of the racism, the violence, and the hate
There are still good people, so it still isn't too late
Strangers come running, no longer are we divided
But all one race, human, with love we stand united
Just people helping people, risking their own lives
Standing strong against the cowards who seek to terrorize
My darkness subsides, I will fear these demons no longer
What they intend will separate, only proves to make us stronger.

I muster up my courage, wipe the blood from my face
Take a Muslim by the hand and get them out of this place
There's no time for judgment, there's no room for separation
When our lives are on the line, this torn planet becomes one nation
I'm not talking about America, I'm talking about the Earth
A new nation of all religions, all colors and cultures, rebirth
Sometimes we hit the bottom, nothing left in the cup
But it's times like these you know, the only place to go is up
So turn your eyes to the skies, a new beginning, a new day
We may get lost in the maze, but we will always find our way.
