This month's Speed Run competition is for 'Alex Kidd in Shinobi World' for the Sega Master System. You can play it here:

The point of this competition is to beat the game as fast as you can.


VIDEO REQUIRED: Along with taking a screenshot with the plugin of the ending screen, you must also post a video of yourself beating the game. You must use the RGR Plugin's built in video recording capabilities. You can upload the video to any youtube account but you must add it to the game's page and also post a link to it in this thread.


RULES: You MUST play the game using the RGR Plugin in 'Timetrial Mode' and take a screenshot of the ending screen by pressing F6 when you've completed the game. To play in 'Timetrial Mode', scroll down the page where it shows the Speed Runs, you'll see a link that says 'Click Here to Compete for Speed Run', click that. Once you've taken your screenshot, click the link near that one that says 'Click Here to Submit your Speed Run' to submit your speed run.

Cool game for a speed run. Alex Kidd games are very fun and challenging. If I can find the time I will try my hand at a speed run...although I do not have very much experience playing through this particular title.

Jordanv78 : I really wanted to find a game that very few have played and a game that's also for a system we haven't done yet. This game works out perfectly, especially since it's exclusive to the system. To be honest though, I have no idea how long it'd take to beat so hopefully it's not a huge game.

In most Alex Kid games these levels can be pretty long, but if you are trying to get through quickly rather than get items to help you, it can probably be done fairly quickly.

I am actively trying to get this one. I think I have pretty much stayed out of most of the speed run competitions. The only one I can think of really trying to win was the Super Mario Kart, and I barely missed that one. Hopefully, this will be my first speed run win. Gotta keep practicing. There are really only 3 parts in the game that tend to slow me down. That is what I am currently working on.

Davideo7 : Never. Speed runs are typically not my forte, so I have just not really attempts. The only one I was actively trying to win was that Mario Kart one. So this will be my second real attempt at a speed run competition.

rcarter2 : I like doing high score runs but I actually enjoy speed runs a little more, especially with platformers. My favorite game to speed run is easily Super Mario Bros, it's just too bad that we already did a competition on it and I didn't get the chance to compete because I could've easily taken 1st.

I know this is not related to the title of the threat but I just had to say I think ANYTIME is a perfect time to have a super Mario bros speedrun. I mean its not like we have to advertise it to do it; those scores stay up forever on the game page as it is so why not? If any game deserves some kind of never-ending speedrun competition just for fun, its SMB.

Beeesiiiideeessss I'm new and didnt get the chance to do the last one. any excuse to get another SMB competition going is good enough for me!
