Piplup all the way!!! It's my favorite.

I like turtwig the best cause of torterra and it's really powerful. I chose it and he's at level 80 right now with return as it's most powerful move.

When all three are fully evolved Torterra got the best types Ground kills fire and steel plus Torterra is a good defencive wall.

I am actually not a fan of any of them, they are all so ugly to me. =S Piplup is cute in the first form, but becomes super ugly. Chimchar is maybe so-so 'cause it can be really strong. Turtwig is all right, specially after fully evolving. But, lots of weaknesses.

I usually go with Turtwig so when it evolves into Torterra it will learn Earthquake which is super-effective against fire types which your rival will choose. That and I think Turtwig is a good Pokemon.

I have to say Chimchar. Because if trained properly it can decimate even the strongest team. It can learn a variety of moves and if teamed with a strong team as well, you will never be defeated.

I'd have to choose Turtwig. He's currently my favorite Pokemon in general.

Chimchar. As much as I despise Monferno (sorry all Monferno lovers), Chimchar and Infernape can destroy most things everything that dares to rear their ugly heads at them.

Because I have played Platinum and used turtwig as a starter, I know from experience that I would definitely use it again. Most people (not being gender specific here) choose Fire as the element for their starter pokemon.

Totodile.
Mudkip.

And then Piplup became the generation four starter for the water type. Not that I don't like Piplup, (I don't really) but I have an affinity for turtles ever since choosing squirtle in Generation one. I did something I had never done. I chose a grass starter. I didn't even consider chimchar because number one; I don't like monkeys, and number two; I resent the fire type a little bit for being so popular.

I love my Torterra. Earthquake is super effective against it's main weakness (fire obviously) and it learns Giga Drain; the best grass type recovery move. The only problem was team galactic's constant use of the poison and flying types. Grass is weak to both. Ground is super effective against Poison but pokemon that were immune to ground type moves were often used. Golbat is a good example. Eventually I found the TM for rock slide though, and that made things a lot easier.

Anyway, I like turtwig. Eep!

My favorite Sinnoh starter is Turtwig, although I like them all quite a bit, I find that if I don't have to choose to get a certain starter, I will most often pick Turtwig so I can get myself a Torterra.

I haven't seen anyone comment that since Chimchar's fully evolved state, Infernape, is part fighting, each of its two types have an advantage over the other two starters, once they're fully evolved. I think that Piplup is the best starter overall, however, because it has few weaknesses and good overall stats.

I'll go with Chimchar. I usually take out all opposing Torterras with a good ol Blast Burn, and all opposing Empoleons with a good ol Close Combat. Sure it's uncreative, but it has good stats.

Turtwig because it learns good moves and because it has good defense and attack.

Chimchar, because of Nasty Plot and Grass Knot. Take THAT, Milotic!

Chimchar, because it's a fire type. Fire Types always win when it comes to me.

Turtwig! it evolves into Torterra, which learns Earthquake right away!
