The reason I wanted to post this question thread is because I share a room with my sister and it also has a desktop computer in there that she is on all the time. We live in a small apartment so it gets crowded with 2 sisters and my mother. I can't go anywhere without being disturbed or annoyed. Do any of you have these problems or similar situations?

I have a similar thing.

Mainly with family visits, right now it is just me and my elderly aunt living here.

I would be on my own, but her health is bad so I keep her with me to take care of her.

Because of her health we have a lot of family/friends coming to visit her, and its then I feel like I have no privacy in my own home.

I get that people are concerned, but keep it limited people need to have their space and their quiet time.

Over crowding some ones space isn't called for, and at times I have asked people to leave just to get it back.

The day I left for college, I think I started dancing. I had little to no privacy in my home, and it got pretty annoying. I was given the bedroom with literally the most foot traffic and my family was pretty invasive. I was always cautious about letting people use my computer, because I found that very often they had checked my history to see what I was doing. I was never in privacy in my room, because people would always walk in. If the door was closed, they would walk in without knocking. And even if I locked the door, they didn't bother knocking or thinking "Hey, maybe he locked this for a reason" and they had figured out a way to unlock it from the outside. That was my brothers though, my parents managed to butt out...sometimes. Now I'm doing better, as I have my own house.

Bintsy : Privacy is important. I'm glad you got a new laptop, I always found using the computer something that required lot's of privacy. And did you know most browsers offer a "private browsing" option. It's in the menu and once clicked it will not keep any history until you restart the program.

I really really enjoy my privacy, so I can imagine what you have to go through. Do you have a special place you go to be some peace and quiet?

I don't really because it is a two beadroom house and I have to share with my eleven year old sister and there isn't really anywhere to relax in the house so I tend to stay at college a bit longer than I need to because there are a lot of peaceful spots on campus
