I saved up $100 to purchase the license for a 2nd Emulator for the NES Room.

You can choose which emulator you want to play your games on, once you purchase the game it's no extra cost to play it on the new emulator.

NESCafe, the new emulator, lets you save your progress anywhere in any game! Also, the other emulator didn't play all games, this new one should play every NES game we have, including the newly added 'Residents Evil' game

It's got just tons of other features too, you can mess around to see it's other features. Some of the others include taking screenshots of game play, game genie support (which we plan to have a check list of codes you can insert into the game at a later date), game rewind (lets you undo something in the game if you messed up), etc.

not to rain on your parade but it doesn't play at full speed... the music is slow, the gameplay is slow (on SMB3... that's the only game I've played so far)....

just letting you know but it might be a problem on others... I'll play through all the games I've got to see if it keeps happening.

no, you get a choice.... you can pick the old one if you want or the new one, they sit side by side.

maybe I'm missing a setting that needs changing or something....

I think that's actually the way the emulator is. It's not a big deal for some games, I'm not sure if there is something I can change to make them play at full speed but I'm assuming it's that way so that the games are easier, especially if you're playing with a keyboard. Again, this is just a back up emulator, the old one is still considered the primary but like Geeogree said, they site side by side.

oh okay... so it's just for those few games that aren't working properly....

I thought for a minute that you were switching over to this new one.... I was worried. Now I'm not so concerned. It does make games hard to play though.... if there is some way you can get the games to go full speed I think I prefer this new emulator to the old one... but only as long as it goes full speed... otherwise it's tough to play...
