Any but America's. I am a immigrant, so sorry if I offend Americans, but when I see the American flag, or guys in their work uniform I think, "Propaganda as far as my eyes can see!" I'd say Britain.  

I have to say America all the way. Though I can respect anyone who fights for their country, regardless.

I'd obviously have to say Canada, because it's my country. We have proof that in World War One, we practically won the war because of Vimy. I'm not sure how well we are doing now but I'm sure it's just the same. I respect any loyal soldier who fights for his country though.

in terms of military strength, the usa, purely because of size and budget. In terms of bang for buck though, I couldnt say. Europe has some of the best special forces but to act like america lacks such would be simply ridiculous.
Outside of america, the united kingdom is the strongest, with the 4th largest military budget in the world, the 8th (i think)largest economy, largest fleet, air, and nuclear force in europe, and even more strategic locations than the usa(e.g gibraltar, indian ocean teritory, cyprus crown lands, bermuda etc). Generaly important because from a military perspective, it allows attacks/operations around the world.
Nations like france and britain have advantages as they still hire forces from the former empire. Africans, fijians, ghurkas, sikhs etc.
France have a lot of oversea territorys too, they actualy own teritory on the south american mainland bigger than some countrys in the americas.
And spain has land on the african continent so that gives them an advantage too.
But id say after the uk germany would be the next strongest of the "allies". They generaly co-operate heavily with the usa, and frankly, theyre probably the best country in europe.
If europe didnt keep following america into these crappy wars id almost see there armys as a force of good, because they are running peace operations (requested by the natives) in many countrys.
In terms of fighting the right battles I wouldnt place the usa at the top, I dont feel its regularly justifiable.
@tank so do most nations militarys. And in technicality, your question is flawed. You ask the best of the allies. You mean the usa allies, ergo the usa isnt actualy an option, since it isnt its own allie.

Anyways, I think that America has the world's greatest military, and that's pretty terrifying.

There isn't really any discussion here...it's the USA. We spend more on our Military than all of our allies combined.

That being said, China or Great Britain would probably be next. Russia would also be on this list if you consider them an ally.
