Everyone says they don't, though I bought one for 250 awhile back. So I don't know for sure. Even if they do, the price won't go down until after the vcs probably.

They will probably be useful at some point, but not for the foreseeable future. In fact, i wouldn't really recommend buying anything from the item shop until the items actually have a purpose. Net play is about the only thing you would benefit from.
