No, wrestling is an awesome sport that involves both strength and technique.  If anything should be taken out, it should be table tennis (No offence to anyone of course), it is probably one of the least athletic sports in the Olympics.  This is just my opinion though...

Actually since table tennis requires lightning reflexes and strategic shot placement, I don't think it should go either. Still I can understand the statement.

As for wrestling, it's Greco Roman, so it just seems fitting for the Olympics. That and it's a competition of strength, technique, and agility, so no it should not be removed from the Olympics.

I was shocked when I heard this. I couldn't believe they would take out wrestling from the Olympics.

I heard part of the justification was that it didn't get good TV ratings. I guess even the Olympics is no longer about skill but ratings. Shameful.

They already have taken it out. Theres about 6 teams competing for like, 1 extra spot though so they might get put back in.

From what I have read the Olympic committee decided to reduce the 26 core sports to 25 and it has to compete with about 5 other sports. One of  the being baseball/softball. Also there is the issue of money that the IOC is looking at.

I don't think they should take all of wrestling out of Olympics, but they should take out one of the categories, because I think there are 3 separate wrestling categories, and I don't think we need them all, but we should at least keep one.
