I've never heard of this or had it happen.  Do you think there's anyway your computer just might be acting funny?  Maybe you should restart your computer and then try it again.  Also try using a different browser and see if anything changes.

If nothing works, do as geeogree suggested and give us links or screenshots showing where you can't edit.  Is there a message at all, or are you simply unable to click the edit link?
