I feel as tho the armed forces are a little under appreciated.I would like to say thank you  to all the active duty armed forces that protect this country and ensure our daily freedoms, and help keep us safe from threats. And also I would like to thank retired Vet's/armed forces for your self-less service's in serving/defending both foreign countries and our country.

This is really sweet of you.  I come from a long line of families in the military, and my husband's family members were/are in the military as well.  It's definitely a wonderful life style, and if my heart wasn't set on teaching, I'm sure I'd sign my name on the dotted line.  I know that our armed forces get a lot of slack, but there are two sides to any coin.  A teaching position has reason to get slack as well.

So I'm going to second you on the appreciation.

Yes, I concur. The Armed forces aren't nearly as appreciated as they should be. They protect us and risk their lives everyday, and all they get is ridicule. Get rid of them and see how long it would take those people to change their minds. They are definitely deserving of our respect and support.

A draft. But a draft is a draft but sorry if I made it sound more severe than it is. But you have to take part in the draft even if you like it or not or face jail time. Though what you end up doing it depends. Mostly joining the army or very rarely some service in some goverment job where you dont get paid wages and you serve longer you would in the army. Very who people just take the jail option. But anyway, its not something you can avoid.

I feel the armed forces are under-appreciated as well. I've heard that many veterans can't even get a job once they come home, and end up on the streets or relying on someone else for their food and water and stuff. While overseas, everyone loves em. Once they come back, they're shunned. It's rather annoying, if you ask me.
