So does anybody think that they should make another Mario Kart game that uses the two characters in each car like in Double Dash? I think it would be cool to bring it back for the Wii U.  I don't, however want them to bring back the drifting style. I like being able to hop and drift over the simple drift. I think the way they did it in Wii and 7 are the best. And I think bringing back the character exclusive items could be interesting, but I don't think I would want it. So what are your thoughts?

I never played double dash. It's Mario kart but you can have two players in one kart?
Well character exclusive items seem like they can give certain characters advantages. Like Mario is obviously going to get a good item while someone like dry bones isn't going to get much. 
I liked the drift. It's good for turns and it can make a huge difference in a close race.

YES! without a shodow of a doubt, double dash was the best Mario Kart ever! (no, not the blue shell, the drifting) 
 
I use to play that game a LOT with my brothers/sisters. we had some serious racing there my friends. 
 
But back to the topic now, Features that need to be implimented into the next Kart would be the following: 
 
more players: 
the drifting scheme: (yellow/red/blue) 
the battle modes 
real VS racing, not with 8 other karts hitting you with items: 
ability to turn items off: 
ability to doge the Red and Blue shells: 
Special items (not spammy ones though like yoshi eggs)

As a kid, I always played Double-Dash, so I really attached to the type of style of the game (since it was my first Mario Kart game) I like the idea of the 2-people, 1-kart aspect of the game, but I think it can be improved on. Maybe there can be a solo-kart mode if you wish, or even better, 3-people, 1-kart! The drift was fun for me as a kid, so I just jumped around in circles during a race.(I lost that race XD). Overall, it seems like a good idea to bring back that gimmick from double dash.

I remember taking my Game Cube to work and beating everyone on my lunch break at it lol

I think it would be cool if they released another game like that for the Wii U, it would be interesting to see what they would do to improve it.

Another double-dash style game would be cool. It certainly was fun to play! But in all honesty, what I think they really need to bring back is the 16 race course set that Double Dash implemented. I would always love playing through the races on 150 CC, sometimes falling behind in the standings only to make a surge towards victory. A tournament style would also be nice for the Wifi. I'm now sure how 7's online was, but Mario Kart Wii's was decent for its time, but I'd rather see a more competitive aspect thrown into the game. Especially the 16-race set, though!

If it had characters like Funky Kong, Toadsworth, koopa, Daisy, Diddy Kong, Dry Bowser, honestly how many different specialty items could you have? It'd just be a hassle just to know which characters use what, Also I hate the idea that you get few cars to choose from.

Well, I only have mario kart wii and I think it is pretty awesome. Although I think that it is awesome, I am going to get mario kart 7 for my nintendo 3ds and I think that it will be just as good and if not better. But mario kart wii is my favorite for now, it is just such an awesome game, I play it all the time! I think it would be cool for another one of the Double Dash games came out with a different console I don't own Wii U so I wouldn't know to much about that but I find myself interested in this game when I played it at my cousins house and would love to own it eventually for myself one day in the future.
