PETA and I have a love hate relationship, but one of those different kind of love hate relationships, where I hate them and don't love them at all. PETA created their own Pokémon game about the "ethical treatment" of pokemon...pokemon! This sick and very disturbing game shows a disfigured pikachu fighting against a visibly drunk and covered in blood trainer. This pikachu can use protest, group hug, thunder shock, and quick attack. The pikachu also has about half an ear, is bandaged and is covered in blood. The trainer has the attributes I mentioned before, and can use the moves, choke collar and tail dock. He should have more, but those were the only ones he used against me, and I really didn't want to play this game twice. After you defeat the trainer, he tells you that Pokémon have no other purpose, and then you "save" and tepig that is bloody and has an open wound on his back.



PETA, you know I don't like you. But this is a sickeningly disturbing game that ruined a memorable part of my childhood. I am really debating whether or not to do this, but here is a link.

I wouldn't play it, this game is just awful. Pokemon is currently suing PETA for making this.

Stuff like that make me mad I hope that PETA gets sued by Pokemon PETA deserves it making a game like that have they have any shame.

That is ridiculous to say the least. They aren't even real creatures! Not to mention this game serves no purpose. I'm just as opposed to animal fighting as anyone, but Pokémon? Seriously.

Eirinn : yeah, PETA makes me want to go play Bloody Roar three for eight hours and send the video to them. Sorry about the rage, I have some issues with PETA. They can find problems with literally anything involving animals.

ender44 : I know, right? They are just a bit out there. They're quite annoying. In my opinion anyway (and yours too apparently lol).

On the flip side, you can see where PETA is coming from. They feel that having children play a game that prominently features Animal-like creatures held in captivity and used for fighting and fighting and fighting might influence some children to respect animals a little less.

But we all know Pokemon actually teaches kids that Pokemons must be treated "with love and respect". Still I can see their point.

To make that game however, is typical PETA, and just way over the top. Is Pokemon really something they should be spending their time and creativity fighting against? No.

I hope Pokemon sues their pants off.

Light Knight : That is one of the things I hate about PETA. You can always see where they are coming from. The thing is the way they decide to show where they are coming from.

This is a game to prove a point.  Did it really sicken and disturb anyone?  Are all of your childhoods destroyed?

My word, people, be a little tougher!

PETA wanted to attract attention.  They're succeeding because we're all talking about it now, whether it's through sexuality (People Exploiting T & A) or violence (Pokemon games).

Let's face it.  Pokemon is all about attacking and forcing animals to submit to humans.  You control them and lock them up in a little ball until it's time for them to fight each other.  That's the only thing they do is fight each other.  Sure, Pokemon don't actually exist but the whole point of the game is training non-humans to battle.

I side with PETA on this one.  They use a game that's popular and apply it to the real world.  Of course they don't really mean Pokemon, they mean animals, like cock-fights or dog-fights.

But, come on.  Stop with the crying and whining.  It's a game.  If someone did a game of Battletoads or Double Dragon to feature spouse abuse, I wouldn't run and cry about how it destroyed my childhood.

Sheesh.

When I first saw that a few months back I was beyond appalled.  Not only is the message done in a distasteful manner, but they litter the game with 'chests' that feature horribly abused animals after each battle.

I certainly can't condone the way PETA went about assaulting Pokémon (though I can't stand PETA anyway ...).

They usually have a decent point to start with but then they go way overboard with their protests.  There are better ways to make a point, I think.  I'd suggest playing the game through, though, if you are able to stomach it.  I think it's better to be aware of what exactly is being talked about rather than to post hearsay (not that anyone has done that so far).

ender44 : If you're so sensitive to consider a video game equal to a teddy bear from your childhood, I can't and won't argue with you.  It's a game.  It's no big deal to me and anyone can make a parody of things from my past without me feeling hurt.

I simply can't understand how anyone can feel so close to a game.  If you do, that's fine.  You're hurt and crushed by what some strangers did to your entire childhood.  That's too bad and I'm sorry for your loss.
