from red/blue/yellow...I believe yellow is better since you can have bulbasaur, squirtle, and charmander without trading with a friend...but my favorite pokemon game has always been gold version...

I didn't really get to play these even though I got Gold & Silver when they came out, I'm not sure what happened...
I think I had too many other RPGs to complete and forgot about them.
I should find them and see if the battery stayed good, I had 2 Celebi's from the Nintendo event.
One of the very few event's we have even had in Australia...

Anyways, I'll say Crystal, even though I didn't have that one it seems to me it would have been the better one as it had extra features and stuff like that.

crystal is the best, it is the finished product, it is basically gold/sliver plus a few touch ups. it makes it easier to sucide and basically everything what was wrong in the first 2 are taken out and to make crystal. its a smillar debate with reb/blue/yellow. with yellow the best it more like the tv series and fixes all the problems which were in red and blue.

The best between them? I would have to say.. Crystal. Gold and Silver are good/great games, but Crystal always stood out to me more. I know they are all similar, but Crystal is just so much better to me.

Actually it depends.If you get Crystal(which in my case it's better) you will get Ho-Oh and Lugia but WITHOUT Aeroblast nor Sacred Fire.Now if you want Lugia with Aeroblast then play Silver,if you want Ho-Oh with Sacred fire then get.Be aware that the only one Pokemon will have their move,Lugia will have Aeroblast while Ho-Oh doesn't have Sacred Fire.Same thing with Gold but the exact opposite.In my conclusion,Crystal is just for enhanced sprites.

I'll have to say that Pokémon crystal was the best, but it didn't have that much extra stuff added to it.
Pokémon Gold and Silver were like Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, Platinum and Crystal were released later as combinations of the previous two games (in a way), so it isn't really that fair a choice, since the combination games were designed to be better than their counterparts. (Also, since Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl were such big hits, by just coming up with a new combination of those two, regardless of new features, it would certainly be a big hit, because the previous two counterparts were so good).
