Capcom makes enough cash on this series to pay the bills.
Plus the Mega-man games have not been hooking new players with the new instalments they try. Only the fans pick them up and they are smart enough to wait for the price to drop.
If they do something new it will be something new.
It will Not be Mega-man.

They Canned "The Dark-stalkers" Series for the exact same reasons.
Difference being is the monster mash of "dark-stalkers" was lesser known.

"Strider" made a comeback in the fighting games but still has yet to have a new title.
Why?
Stirder1, and Strider2, and the N.E.S. Port, and the Genisis Port, plus Sequel for a total of Five Games and Several Cameos.
Why?
Money?
They can not rake in enough cash to pay for Houses for their "Mail-room" People?

This is a Call Made by people who look at numbers clearly in the Millions, And a few dollars shy just doesn't cut it?
I say be grateful that they do not produce bad games and enjoy a different hit from some other company.
Maybe Halo is the next Mega-man.
Maybe this is as good as it gets.

Yeah, Mega man is like the Luigi of CapCom, but nowadays only the fans buy the games, not really anyone else besides them, so maybe that's why?.
