They both aim to kill people, and they both have had their own shows about it.

Who did a better job? Who's more of a relatable person?

Light got more in numbers, but there was more of a trip into Dexter's mind than with Light, and we could really see everything about him.

Light Yagami did a WAY better job. He got his numbers in the thousands, and stayed with the investigators for years without being caught. While watching death note, I had some moments where I just went WOW, light yagami got himself out of some serious situations.

I have to go with Light. He played chicken with the best detective in history, and even L was almost certain he was the killer but still had his moments of doubt. 

Dexter's more relatable to me, I suppose, but that's mostly because there's a few times with Light that I wanted to reach out and smack him, arrogant little sheet that he was. Still, of the two, I feel more drawn to Light's reasoning than Dexter's, so yeah.

At first I let light get into my mind but that was too years ago, it really creeped me out but I am a lot more resilient now and I can get into the psychological warfare going on I am only 12 episodes in but I am hooked. However in dexter you hear all his thoughs, his past and it fascinates me, I wounder if someone like this exists, was he born bad or was it his father covering for him that amplified his urges in the short term but restrains them in the long term, dexter also shows that no matter how cold you are there is human in everybody, although it is very close I have picked dexter because I am fascinated by his story.
