Life is full of advice you don't need.

Pull yourself together,

it will be alright,

don't get mad!

and drink water when you are hungry.

But I am thinking of the kind of advice you follow and it turns out to be the wrong thing and in retrospect is the worst piece of advice you ever had.

'You don't need to listen to your parents... They're just people.'
'You're wasting your time on vizzed, it's just lots of talking.'

Just to mention a few. I could list many more, but I don't think they're quite appropriate. Anyway, I haven't listened to any of them.

Worst bit of advice I have ever gotten? Easy: Give up on, and walk away from the one person that understands you, and will always be there. Just because they didn't do what you wanted them to today.

I didn't follow it. Relationships (talking friendship in this situation) are too important to walk away from over something so small, and I don't walk out on people.

The worst advice I've followed? "Trust this person, and do everything they say. Take everyrhing they say as the right thing, and never NEVER entertain the thought that they might be wrong". Basically it was that this person was always right and I should never check if there was a better or wiser choice available. Got me into some real spots. Yes, I was stupid enough to keep following it even after I got burned several times. lol

I did that and my teacher caught me and thought that I was looking at the final of the person next to me so I got a 0 and had to retake my final. Totts : I’ve gotten plenty of bad advice. My problem is for the longest time I didn’t want to listen to the people who were actually giving me good advice. I guess one of the worst pieces of advice was when someone who I was working for at the time told me to call the local cable company here (One of the worst cable companies around) and threaten to cancel service so you could get all the sports packages free of charge.

Thankfully this was one of the times when I knew it was ignorant to even consider the idea and when it was possible I just switched my service to satellite. I just found it mildly amusing that this was someone whom was in a position of power suggesting something like that. I laugh about it now but I’m glad I didn’t fall for it and common sense won out on that day. Common sense is something I can’t say I used a lot when I was younger.

"take deep breaths" while I was having a asthma attack a few years back, anyody who has ever had one will know how infuriating that is. Been told to take deep breaaths when you can't control your breathing is that annoying it caused my athsma attack to turn into a panic attack through stress which caused me to be hospitalised. (not the worst day of my life either)
