Neither, actually. I live in a mobile home. Houses don't do well with the sandy soil here in Fl, I guess.

jkattes22 : You should try to make higher quality posts instead of posts with 1 word if you ever want to become more than a member.
I live in a house. An apartment  isn't really that unsafe since you use a key to get in your room. And a mobile hope isn't too bad.
And I don't think this thread is allowed since it is a this or that thread.

I live in a 10x50 mobile home built in 1972 haha! It was a piece of junk when we found it and had been sitting in a field for awhile. We spent 5 months fixing it up before moving in, installing hardwood floors throughout, new carpet in the bedrooms, and lots of painting. You might say, who would put hardwood in an almost 40yr old mobile home? We were lucky in the fact that one of our friends had just built his 400,000 dream home and had plenty leftover hardwood. He gave it to us, lucky we are! We also have a friend who gave us a beautiful living room set that was hardly used at all, because she likes to change her furniture every 2-5 yrs, or whenever she gets tired of it. I wish we had that luxury and money to do that. We both work 40+ hrs a week-I have been at the bank  as senior teller for 18 yrs and he is an equipment operator at a construction company, but it's just hard to make ends meet because of my many health problems, so this is what we could afford. We get many compliments on our cozy little MH because people don't expect it to be so nice inside, luckily my hubby is very handy. I would love to have more space, but since I am in so much pain all the time, I am blessed to not have a big house to clean. Plus it's paid for............

I've lived in a house, apartment, and a mobile home. I go back and forth on what I like best.

Pros of apartment are usually easier on utility bills, sometimes come with internet and cable, not having to worry about your lawncare, and are usually kept pretty up to date. Cons of course would be living so close with others, often having to share laundry facilities, and having to keep in mind to not get too loud or rowdy so as to not disturb others.

Pros of trailers/mobile homes would be that it's like a house, only less work and responsibility. They give you the space of a house as far as yards and things, but without having to pay property taxes and all that stuff. Cons would be that a lot of the ones you find are super outdated and grody, and most of the trailers that aren't super nice, big luxurious doublewides tend to be pretty small. Also, you have to pay lot rent and can't always have the pets you want.

Houses are just a lot of responsibility and money. They're awesome if you can afford to take care of it or know "a guy" who can help you with all the issues that come up. I'm renting a house right now and our landlord is pretty boss with making sure things get fixed in a timely manner, so that's not so bad. However, I hate dealing with our yard (and we just kind of neglect doing it because we don't mind a buttload of leaves being everywhere).

Anyway, we're moving to an apartment next week and I'm pretty stoked. I'm ready to downsize a bit and save on some bills for a while. My ideal place to live would probably be a nice, big doublewide trailer. I'd love to build my own house someday but unless I win the lottery, I doubt it'll ever happen.

May as well give my life story. I spent my earliest years living in a trailer with the rest of my family. It wasn't rundown or anything, though. As a matter of fact, it pretty much felt like a normal house, just really rectangular compared to other people's. When I was in about third grade, my grandmother on my father's side passed away, and we moved into her house where we've lived ever since.

I'm actually partway through my sophomore year of college, still living at home and commuting every Tuesday and Thursday. I'm planning to live on campus next semester though. Not sure if that really applies to this thread, since I'll just be right back where I am once I graduate unless I actually get another house or, more likely, an apartment before then.

Well, I own a house, big 3 story house or mansion, whatever suits it best. Yard is quite big like half a football field, pool, blah Blah blah. One thing I hate about it though, mowing the lawn and making sure the house is in tip top shape.

I'm in a dorm right now; much cheaper than an apartment, and transit time is cut by 90%.

Honestly It depends if you have animals or not.
Once I move out of my house I intend to get an apartment... its easier to manage...
As for pets... then... um.... cats?

I live in a house myself, but I would much rather live in an apartment.
Not only because its more cost efficient, by utilities being tied in to the monthly rent. But I find it a lot safer as a whole.
Most apartments have a buzz lock system, and added security is always good.
I would be in an apartment now, but unfortunately for me, there are none in my area that allow pets. So I had to settle for my current living arrangements.

The major difference is an apartment is so much cheaper... unless you go to London that is...
Houses tend to be for those with a stable income that aren't at risk of being jobless.
